Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure describe, among other things, methods of separating fluids comprising contacting a defect-free polyamide-thin-film composite membrane with a fluid composition and capturing one or more chemical species from the fluid composition.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . A method of separating fluids, comprising:
contacting a defect-free polyamide-thin-film composite membrane with a fluid composition; and capturing one or more chemical species from the fluid composition.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the fluid composition is in a liquid phase, a gas/vapor phase, or a combination thereof.

         3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the fluid composition includes one or more of H 2 , CO 2 , CH 4 , O 2 , N 2 , H 2 O, and He.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the one or more captured chemical species have a kinetic diameter of less than about 3.5 Å.

         5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the defect-free polyamide-thin-film composite membrane exhibits a H 2 /CO 2 selectivity of at least 10.
