Portable Pad for Wireless Charging
Abstract
Some embodiments provide a system for charging devices. The system includes a master device and a slave device. Some embodiments provide a method for charging devices in a system that includes a slave device and a master device. The slave device includes (1) an antenna to receive a radio frequency (RF) beam and (2) a power generation module connected to the antenna that converts RF energy received by the slave antenna to power. The master device includes (1) a directional antenna to direct RF power to the antenna of the slave device and (2) a module that provides power to the directional antenna of the master device.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 46 . (canceled)
47 . A method for using a portable pad, said method comprising:
wirelessly charging said portable pad; using at least one portable pad coil in said portable pad for induction charging a chargeable slave device when said chargeable slave device is placed close to said portable pad.
48 . The method of claim 47 , wherein said portable pad comprises a battery configured to be charged by a focused RF beam transmitted by a charging master device.
49 . The method of claim 47 , wherein said portable pad comprises a battery configured to be charged when said portable pad is placed close to a master device coil of a charging master device.
50 . The method of claim 47 , wherein said portable pad comprises a battery for driving said at least one portable pad coil.
51 . The method of claim 47 , wherein said portable pad uses either a wireline or wireless connection to connect to the Internet or an Intranet.
52 . The method of claim 47 , wherein said portable pad and said chargeable slave device communicate through an RF communication channel to exchange information using modulated RF signals.
53 . The method of claim 47 , wherein said portable pad and a charging master device communicate through an RF communication channel to exchange information using modulated RF signals.
54 . A portable pad for providing power to a chargeable slave device, said portable pad comprising:
a battery, wherein said battery is configured to be wirelessly charged by a charging master device; a circuit for RF communication with said charging master device; at least one portable pad coil in said portable pad for induction charging said chargeable slave device when said chargeable slave device is placed close to said portable pad.
55 . The portable pad of claim 54 , wherein said battery is configured to be charged by a focused RF beam transmitted by said charging master device.
56 . The portable pad of claim 54 , wherein said battery is charged when said portable pad is placed close to a master device coil of said charging master device.
57 . The portable pad of claim 54 , wherein said portable pad uses either a wireline or wireless connection to connect to the Internet or an Intranet.
58 . The portable pad of claim 54 , wherein said portable pad and said chargeable slave device communicate through an RF communication channel to exchange information using modulated RF signals.
59 . The portable pad of claim 54 , wherein said portable pad and said charging master device communicate through an RF communication channel to exchange information using modulated RF signals.
60 . The portable pad of claim 54 , wherein said portable pad is attached to a tablet device for wireless charging said tablet device.
61 . A system comprising:
a chargeable slave device; a portable pad, wherein said portable pad comprises a battery, a circuit for RF communication, and at least one portable pad coil for induction charging said chargeable slave device when said chargeable slave device is placed close to said portable pad; a charging master device for wirelessly providing power to said battery of said portable pad.
62 . The system of claim 61 , wherein said battery is configured to be charged by a focused RF beam transmitted by said charging master device.
63 . The system of claim 61 , wherein said battery is charged when RF said portable pad is placed close to a master device coil of said charging master device.
64 . The system of claim 61 , wherein said portable pad uses either a wireline or wireless connection to connect to the Internet or an Intranet.
65 . The system of claim 61 , wherein said portable pad and said chargeable slave device communicate through an RF communication channel to exchange information using modulated RF signals.
66 . The system of claim 61 , wherein said portable pad and said charging master device communicate through an RF communication channel to exchange information using modulated RF signals.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
