Abstract

A system for human-digital media interaction tracking. One example system includes a database that stores information regarding a user's activity history for various different cognitive tasks, and a computing device that receives user behavior information indicating usage by a user of an interactive software program, the interactive software program associated with at least one of the cognitive tasks. The computing device, in response to the receipt of user behavior information indicating usage by the user of the interactive software program, updates the database information regarding the user's activity history for the at least one of the cognitive tasks.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A method, comprising:
 recording, via a processor, interaction of a user with a plurality of software programs; identifying, via the processor, for each software program in the plurality of software programs, a mapping of the software program to at least one cognitive task, resulting in a plurality of cognitive mappings; generating, via the processor and based on the interaction of the user and the plurality of cognitive mappings, a list of cognitive tasks performed by the user in interacting with the plurality of software programs; identifying, via the processor, for each cognitive task in the list of cognitive tasks, a mapping of the cognitive task to brain areas associated with the cognitive task, resulting in a plurality of brain mappings; and generating, via the processor and based on the list of cognitive tasks and the plurality of brain mappings, a list of portions of the brain of the user used during the interaction of the user with the plurality of software programs.

         2 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
 generating a recommendation for the user for future activity based upon the list of portions of the brain.

         3 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the recommendation is further based on at least one goal established by the user.

         4 . The method of claim 2 , wherein the recommendation is further based a history of the user.

         5 . The method of claim 4 , further comprising:
 identifying, via the processor, a deficiency in exercising a portion of the brain of the user based upon the list of portions of the brain and the history of the user, wherein the recommendation is further based upon the deficiency.

         6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of software programs comprises a text messaging program.

         7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of software programs comprises a web browser.

         8 . A system comprising:
 a processor; and a computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
 recording interaction of a user with a plurality of software programs;
 identifying for each software program in the plurality of software programs, a mapping of the software program to at least one cognitive task, resulting in a plurality of cognitive mappings;
 generating, based on the interaction of the user and the plurality of cognitive mappings, a list of cognitive tasks performed by the user in interacting with the plurality of software programs;
 identifying for each cognitive task in the list of cognitive tasks, a mapping of the cognitive task to brain areas associated with the cognitive task, resulting in a plurality of brain mappings; and
 generating, based on the list of cognitive tasks and the plurality of brain mappings, a list of portions of the brain of the user used during the interaction of the user with the plurality of software programs.

         9 . The system of claim 8 , the computer-readable storage medium having additional instructions stored which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
 generating a recommendation for the user for future activity based upon the list of portions of the brain.

         10 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the recommendation is further based on at least one goal established by the user.

         11 . The system of claim 9 , wherein the recommendation is further based a history of the user.

         12 . The system of claim 11 , the computer-readable storage medium having additional instructions stored which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising: identifying a deficiency in exercising a portion of the brain of the user based upon the list of portions of the brain and the history of the user,
 wherein the recommendation is further based upon the deficiency.

         13 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of software programs comprises a text messaging program.

         14 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of software programs comprises a web browser.

         15 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having instructions stored which, when executed by a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
 recording interaction of a user with a plurality of software programs; identifying for each software program in the plurality of software programs, a mapping of the software program to at least one cognitive task, resulting in a plurality of cognitive mappings; generating, based on the interaction of the user and the plurality of cognitive mappings, a list of cognitive tasks performed by the user in interacting with the plurality of software programs; identifying for each cognitive task in the list of cognitive tasks, a mapping of the cognitive task to brain areas associated with the cognitive task, resulting in a plurality of brain mappings; and generating, based on the list of cognitive tasks and the plurality of brain mappings, a list of portions of the brain of the user used during the interaction of the user with the plurality of software programs.

         16 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15 , having additional instructions stored which, when executed by the computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
 generating a recommendation for the user for future activity based upon the list of portions of the brain.

         17 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the recommendation is further based on at least one goal established by the user.

         18 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 9 , wherein the recommendation is further based a history of the user.

         19 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 11 , having additional instructions stored which, when executed by the computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
 identifying a deficiency in exercising a portion of the brain of the user based upon the list of portions of the brain and the history of the user, wherein the recommendation is further based upon the deficiency.

         20 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of software programs comprises a text messaging program.
