Abstract
Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can transmit at least a media content item to a recipient device. A response can be received from the recipient device. At least the media content item can be obscured to produce an obscured media content item. The response and the obscured media content item can be presented. The response can overlay the obscured media content item.

1 . A computer-implemented method comprising:
providing, by a computing system, a communication thread comprising a media content item for presentation, wherein a first copy of the media content item is stored at the computing system and a second copy of the media content item is stored at a recipient device, wherein the communication thread is presented within a layer that is positioned in a stack structure based on time data associated with the layer; and ending, by the computing system, the communication thread, when a touch gesture is detected, causing the first copy of the media content item to be removed from the computing system and the second copy of the media content item to be removed from the recipient device.
2 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the stack structure comprises a plurality of layers, and each of the plurality of layers corresponds to a communication thread between the computing system and one or more respective recipient devices.

The computer-implemented method of claim 2 , wherein an oldest layer in the plurality of layers is positioned at a top of the stack structure and a newest layer in the plurality of layers is positioned at a bottom of the stack structure or the newest layer is positioned at the top of the stack structure and the oldest layer is positioned at the bottom of the stack structure.
4 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein at least one of: the first copy of the media content item is obscured by the computing system or the second copy of the media content item is obscured by the recipient device.
5 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the communication thread further comprises one or more responses between the computing system and the recipient device.
6 . The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the one or more responses are transmitted between the computing system and the recipient device without transmitting the media content item.
7 . The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the one or more responses and the media content item are overlaid in an order based on time data associated with the one or more responses and the media content item.
8 . The computer-implemented method of claim 5 , wherein the one or more responses overlay the media content item and the one or more responses are scrollable.
9 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the touch gesture is detected by at least one of: a touch sensor or a touch display.
10 . The computer-implemented method of claim 1 , wherein the touch gesture is a flicking gesture.
11 . A system comprising:
at least one processor; and a memory storing instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the system to perform a method comprising:
providing a communication thread comprising a media content item for presentation, wherein a first copy of the media content item is stored at the system and a second copy of the media content item is stored at a recipient device, wherein the communication thread is presented within a layer that is positioned in a stack structure based on time data associated with the layer; and
ending the communication thread, when a touch gesture is detected, causing the first copy of the media content item to be removed from the system and the second copy of the media content item to be removed from the recipient device.
12 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the stack structure comprises a plurality of layers, and each of the plurality of layers corresponds to a communication thread between the computing system and one or more respective recipient devices.

The system of claim 12 , wherein an oldest layer in the plurality of layers is positioned at a top of the stack structure and a newest layer in the plurality of layers is positioned at a bottom of the stack structure or the newest layer is positioned at the top of the stack structure and the oldest layer is positioned at the bottom of the stack structure.
14 . The system of claim 11 , wherein at least one of: the first copy of the media content item is obscured by the computing system or the second copy of the media content item is obscured by the recipient device.
15 . The system of claim 11 , wherein the communication thread further comprises one or more responses between the computing system and the recipient device.
16 . A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by at least one processor of a computing system, cause the computing system to perform a method comprising:
providing a communication thread comprising a media content item for presentation, wherein a first copy of the media content item is stored at the computing system and a second copy of the media content item is stored at a recipient device, wherein the communication thread is presented within a layer that is positioned in a stack structure based on time data associated with the layer; and ending the communication thread, when a touch gesture is detected, causing the first copy of the media content item to be removed from the computing system and the second copy of the media content item to be removed from the recipient device.
17 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein the stack structure comprises a plurality of layers, and each of the plurality of layers corresponds to a communication thread between the computing system and one or more respective recipient devices.

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 17 , wherein an oldest layer in the plurality of layers is positioned at a top of the stack structure and a newest layer in the plurality of layers is positioned at a bottom of the stack structure or the newest layer is positioned at the top of the stack structure and the oldest layer is positioned at the bottom of the stack structure.
19 . The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 16 , wherein at least one of: the first copy of the media content item is obscured by the computing system or the second copy of the media content item is obscured by the recipient device.
