Abstract
A stackable storage rack, which includes a base with multiple sockets for connecting a respective pair of vertical support members in a manner that permits multiple storage racks to be stacked on-site with their respective vertical support members attached and in a standard shipping container without their respective vertical support members attached. The storage rack also maximizes the storage capacity in a standard shipping container when it is loaded in a standard shipping container with its vertical support members attached.
Claims

12 . The method of claim 11 , further comprising:
transporting each storage rack in the shipping container to a site; disconnecting each storage rack from the at least one other storage rack; removing each storage rack from the standard shipping container; connecting a plurality of vertical support members to the base of each storage rack; positioning a load on the base of each storage rack between the plurality of vertical support members; and positioning each loaded storage rack in a respective standard sea shipping container.
13 . The method of claim 12 , further comprising:
transporting each storage rack in the respective shipping container to another site; removing each storage rack from the respective shipping container; stacking at least one storage rack on another storage rack; and detachably connecting the storage rack to the another storage rack.
14 . The method of claim 13 , wherein an upper end of each vertical support member connected to the base of the another storage rack is connected to an open end of a respective socket positioned around a perimeter of the base of the at least one storage rack.
