Claims

Abstract

A container having a fluid reservoir and a channel for receiving an insert. The channel allows the insert to be secured to the container for displaying a portion of the insert, such as a faceplate of the insert and/or a back end of the insert. The insert may also be visible through a transparent portion of the container. The insert may include a marking or advertising logo. For example, the insert may include a 3-dimensional logo that extends through at least a portion of the container. In an embodiment, the insert is made from a different material than the container. For example, the container may include a transparent glass material and the insert may include an aluminum material that is visible through the transparent glass material of the container.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A container assembly comprising:
 a separable insert, detachably mated into a channel in a container;   the separable insert, having a polygonal cross section further comprising:   a separable insert bottom surface wall joined to at least two opposite separable insert inner surface walls which slope toward a separable insert central axis of the separable insert and meet at a separable insert apex along the separable insert central axis;   a faceplate, extending radially outward from the separable insert bottom surface wall and the at least two opposite separable insert inner surface walls;   the channel, having the polygonal cross section that extends from a channel front opening to a channel rear wall; the channel further comprising:   a channel bottom surface wall joined to at least two opposite channel inner surface walls which slope toward a channel central axis of the channel and meet at a channel apex along the channel central axis; wherein the channel central axis is collinear with the separable insert central axis when the separable insert is mated into the channel;   the channel front opening further comprising a recessed front lip around a perimeter of the channel front opening; wherein the faceplate mates with the recessed front lip to mate the separable insert into the channel.   
     
     
         2 . The container assembly of  claim 1 , wherein the container further comprises:
 a base;   a front outer wall, a rear outer wall, and at least two side walls extending upwards from the base;   an opening opposite the base;   wherein the base, the front outer wall, the rear outer wall, and the at least two side walls define a fluid reservoir; and   the fluid reservoir and the container have a container central axis extending upwardly from a midpoint of the base.   
     
     
         3 . The container assembly of  claim 2 ,
 wherein the channel is spaced within the fluid reservoir below the opening so as to define an upper fluid reservoir adjacent the opening, a lower fluid reservoir adjacent the base, and first and second fluid paths within the fluid reservoir on either lateral side of the channel which fluidly connect the upper fluid reservoir to the lower fluid reservoir.   
     
     
         4 . The container assembly of  claim 3 , further comprising an axial facing ledge at an end of the channel to prevent axial movement of the separable insert in a first axial direction relative to the container. 
     
     
         5 . The container assembly of  claim 4 , further comprising a radially inward facing faceplate wall at the end of the channel to prevent the axial movement of the separable insert relative to the container. 
     
     
         6 . The container assembly of  claim 4 , further comprising a radially inward facing faceplate wall configured to press-fit against a radially outwardly facing surface of the separable insert. 
     
     
         7 . The container of  claim 5 , further comprising a cap to close the opening. 
     
     
         8 . The container of  claim 5 , wherein the channel is fluidly separated from a fluid reservoir in the container.
