Packaged food product for heating in oven

Abstract

The present invention relates to a packaged food product for being heated in an oven or heater, the packaged food product comprising a container with a food and a lid, wherein the container comprises an inwards raised bead at the inner wall of the container near the opening end of the container; the lid comprises a recess designed to engage with the raised bead at the inner wall of the container in such a way as to snap-close the container; and the food is located in the container.

1 . A packaged food product comprising a container, a lid and a food, wherein:
 the container comprises an inwards raised bead at the inner wall of the container near the opening end of the container;   the lid comprises a recess designed to engage with the raised bead at the inner wall of the container in such a way as to snap-close the container;   the food is located in the container; and   the packaged food product is suitable for being heated in an oven or a heater without the need of removing the lid from the closed container.   
     
     
         2 . The packaged food product according to  claim 1 , wherein the inwards raised bead leads around the entire circumference of the container. 
     
     
         3 . The packaged food product according to  claim 1 , wherein the container is in a shape selected from the group consisting of a bowl, a cup, a beaker, a jar, a ramekin and a goblet. 
     
     
         4 . The packaged food product according to  claim 1 , wherein the opening end of the container is round or oval. 
     
     
         5 . The packaged food product according to  claim 1 , wherein the container and the lid are made of a material suitable for being heated in a microwave oven. 
     
     
         6 . The packaged food product according to  claim 5 , wherein the material is rigid. 
     
     
         7 . The packaged food product according to  claim 5 , wherein the material is steam- and water-proof. 
     
     
         8 . The packaged food product according to  claim 5 , wherein the material is selected from the group consisting of polypropylene, crystallized polyethylene terephthalate (CPET), plastic, molded pulp fiber, laminated molded fiber, and combinations thereof. 
     
     
         9 . The packaged food product according to  claim 1 , wherein the lid comprises a rim at the periphery designed for the lid to sit on the opening end of the container. 
     
     
         10 . The packaged food product according to  claim 9 , wherein the lid further comprises a circumferential extending neck at the rim. 
     
     
         11 . The packaged food product according to  claim 9 , wherein the lid is bent inwards in direction of the container in order to form a bay, niche or indent at the surface of the lid. 
     
     
         12 . The packaged food product according to  claim 9 , wherein the surface of the lid is concave, curved towards the inside of the container. 
     
     
         13 . The packaged food product according to  claim 9 , further comprising a disk or a film, covering the lid. 
     
     
         14 . The packaged food product according to  claim 13 , wherein the disk is nested within a circumferential rim and neck of the lid and covering the lid. 
     
     
         15 . The packaged food product according to  claim 1 , further comprising a shrink film wrapped around part or all of the packaged food product. 
     
     
         16 . The packaged food product according to  claim 1 , wherein the oven is a standard oven or a microwave oven. 
     
     
         17 . The packaged food product according to  claim 1 , wherein the heater is a water bath.
