Abstract

A height adjustable sewing machine support and storage system operates with a sewing machine, as a height adjustable working surface with storage capacity. The system comprises a supportive frame, upon which rests a work surface. A sewing machine is mounted or positioned on a height adjustable platform, which is selectively adjustable in height relative to the work surface. The height adjustable platform locks into a fixed height, coplanar or below the work surface, through selective engagement with ridged brackets. A hinged side platform hingedly articulates about the left or right edge of the work surface through a drop leaf configuration. A support bracket locks the hinged side platform into a coplanar arrangement with the work surface. A lower storage bin positions below the proximal edge of the work surface, and a plurality of shelves position below, and directly to the right or left of the work surface for storage.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What I claim is:

         1 . A height adjustable sewing machine support and storage system, the system comprising:
 a support frame comprising a horizontal rack and a plurality of legs comprising an upper end fixedly attached with the horizontal rack and a lower end terminating at feet; a work surface supported on the support frame and comprising a proximal edge, a distal edge, a left edge, and a right edge; a height adjustable platform disposed at the proximal edge of the work surface and to be selectively adjustable in height relative to the work surface; and a pair of height adjustable assemblies attached on the upper end of the legs in a generally perpendicular orientation to the horizontal rack and comprising at least one ridge, wherein each of the height adjustable assembly comprises at least one ridged bracket and a retaining member attached on two side edges of the height adjustable platform; wherein the height adjustable platform is raised and lowered relative to the work surface.

         2 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising at least one hinged side platform hingedly connected with the left or right edge of the work surface through a drop leaf configuration.

         3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein each of the ridged brackets comprises at least one ridges having a plurality of ridge openings to selectively engage with the retaining member.

         4 . The system of claim 3 , further comprising a support bracket releasably locking with the hinged side platform into a coplanar arrangement with the work surface.

         5 . Then system of claim 3 , further comprising a lower storage bin disposed below the work surface and extended between the legs of the frame.

         6 . The system of claim 3 , further comprising a plurality of shelves disposed below the right or left edge of the work surface and a shelf bracket configured to receive the shelves in a slidable relationship, wherein the shelves are slidably displaced between an open position and a closed position.

         7 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the plurality of legs comprises three pairs of parallel legs.

         8 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the work surface is generally planar and rigid.

         9 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the feet are elongated bars.

         10 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the height adjustable platform and the hinged side platform have a rectangular shape.

         11 . The system of claim 4 , wherein the support bracket is oriented at a 45° angle when supporting the hinged side platform coplanar with the work surface.

         12 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the plurality of shelves comprises three shelves disposed in a stacked arrangement.

         13 . The system of claim 6 , wherein the lower storage bin is perforated.

         14 . A method of adjusting a height of a sewing machine support and storage device, the method comprising;
 supporting a work surface supported on a support frame;   raising and lowering a height adjustable platform relative to the work surface;   flipping a hinged side platform to flush with the work surface;   supporting at least one ridged bracket on the support frame;

         15 . The method of claim 14 , wherein each of the ridged bracket comprises at least one ridges having a plurality of ridge openings.

         16 . The method of claim 14 , further comprising reinforcing the hinged side platform to be coplanar with the work surface by at least one support bracket.

         17 . The method of claim 14 further comprising engaging at least one retaining members formed on two sides of the height adjustable platform with one of ridge openings of the ridged bracket.

         18 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising engaging the retaining members with the ridge openings.

         19 . The method of claim 16 , further comprising resting the hinged side platform adjacent to the support frame.
