- 24 . (canceled)

. A method of applying a cosmetic, comprising
applying a cosmetically effective amount of a cosmetic composition to the skin of a human subject, wherein the cosmetic composition comprises aloe and an aloe-extracted component of a cardiac glycoside plant species.

. The method of claim 25 , wherein the cardiac glycoside plant species is Nerium oleander.

. The method of claim 26 , wherein the cosmetic composition comprises a dermal agent.

. The method of claim 27 , wherein the dermal agent is a cream or a lotion.

. The method of claim 28 , wherein the dermal agent is a face lotion.

. The method of claim 27 , wherein the dermal agent is an emulsion, an oily ointment or an aqueous ointment.

. The method of claim 26 , wherein the cosmetically effective amount is effective to moisturize human skin.

. The method of claim 26 , wherein the cosmetically effective amount is effective to soften human skin.

. The method of claim 25 , wherein the cardiac glycoside plant species is Nerium indicum.

. The method of claim 25 , wherein the aloe-extracted component comprises a cardiac glycoside.

. The method of claim 34 , wherein the cardiac glycoside is oleandrin.
