Modular Projection Systems and Wellness Studios

Abstract

In some embodiments the invention concerning enclosures for conducting wellness activities, such as yoga, pilates, meditation and the like. In preferred embodiments the enclosure comprises at least one interior space and at least one mirrored wall that reflects images projected from one or more projector component into a curved, projection wall opposing the mirrored wall.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 ) An enclosure comprising
 a mirrored wall, said mirrored wall joining two lateral walls of said enclosure and comprising a front side of a first compartment defined by said mirrored wall and a first projection wall of said first compartment,
 said first projection wall having an interior surface and including and continuously joining said two lateral walls and further comprising a smoothly curved back wall lacking angles; wherein said interior surface comprises a projection screen material; and 
 an image projector structured to project an image on the interior surfaces of the back wall of the projection wall. 
   
     
     
         2 ) The enclosure of  claim 1  wherein said enclosure has a circular floor plan and said mirrored wall forms a diameter segment bisecting said floor plan and defining said first compartment and a second compartment; said first compartment and said second compartment each having a semicircular floor plan. 
     
     
         3 ) The enclosure of  claim 1  wherein said enclosure has a semicircular floor plan and said mirrored wall forms a diameter segment comprising a back wall of said enclosure. 
     
     
         4 ) The enclosure of  claim 1  wherein said enclosure has a floor plan selected from the group consisting of an oval floor plan and a rounded rectangular floor plan, and herein said mirrored wall divides said floor plan and defines said first compartment and a second compartment; said second compartment defined by said mirrored wall and a second projection wall of said second compartment; said second projection wall having an interior surface and including and continuously joining said two lateral walls of the second compartment and further comprising a smoothly curved back wall of the second compartment lacking angles; wherein said interior surface comprises a projection screen material. 
     
     
         5 ) A workspace comprising a rectangular room containing the enclosure of  claim 1 . 
     
     
         6 ) The enclosure of  claim 2  wherein said mirrored wall is mirrored on both sides and wherein said second compartment is defined by a second projection wall of said second compartment; said second projection wall having an interior surface and including and continuously joining said two lateral side walls of the second compartment and further comprising a smoothly curved back wall of the second compartment lacking angles; wherein said interior surface comprises a projection screen material; and
 said image projector is structured to project an image on the interior surfaces of the back wall and two lateral walls of the projection wall of the second compartment. 
 
     
     
         7 ) An enclosure comprising a first wall comprising a mirrored surface and a second wall opposing said first wall and comprising a curved internal projection surface defining and at least partly surrounding a first internal space therebetween, said enclosure further comprising one or more image projector located with said internal space and configured to project a visual image against the curved projection surface. 
     
     
         8 ) The enclosure of  claim 7  wherein said one or more image projector is directly or directly suspended from a ceiling. 
     
     
         9 ) The enclosure of  claim 7  wherein said one or more image projector projects a visual image selected from the group consisting of a static photographic image, a static graphic image, a video image, a moving photographic image, a moving graphic image, and a film image against said curved projection surface. 
     
     
         10 ) The enclosure of  claim 7  having a footprint in plan view that comprises a substantially rectangular, circular, oval, Cassini oval, elliptical, “pill shaped”, foil shaped, semi-circular, semi-oval, semi-elliptical, semi-Cassini oval, semi-“pill shaped”, or semi-foil shaped floor plan. 
     
     
         11 ) The enclosure of  claim 7  wherein said second wall comprises a flexible material retained by and stretched between fasteners on or near a floor and a ceiling of said enclosure. 
     
     
         12 ) The enclosure of  claim 11  wherein said mirrored first wall comprises a flexible material retained by and stretched between fasteners on or near a floor and a ceiling of said enclosure. 
     
     
         13 ) The enclosure of  claim 7  further comprising a third wall comprising a mirrored surface and a fourth wall opposing said third wall and comprising a curved internal projection surface defining and at least partly surrounding a second internal space therebetween, said enclosure further comprising one or more image projector located with said internal space and configured to project a visual image against the curved projection surface. 
     
     
         14 ) The enclosure of  claim 13  wherein the first wall and the third wall are the same wall having a mirrored surface on each side thereof. 
     
     
         15 ) The enclosure of  claim 14  having a dome or semi-dome shape, wherein the second and fourth walls are the same wall, and the enclosure comprises at least one additional wall having a mirrored surface on both sides thereof and at least a third internal space. 
     
     
         16 ) The enclosure of  claim 13  wherein said second wall and said fourth wall are each curved from bottom to top and are joined at their upper ends to form a tunnel-like structure comprising, with the first wall and the third wall each being substantially parallel to a bottom portion of said second wall and a bottom portion of said fourth wall, and aligned lengthwise along said tunnel-like structure between said first internal space and said second internal space. 
     
     
         17 ) The enclosure of  claim 16  wherein the first wall and the third wall are the same wall having a mirrored surface on each side thereof. 
     
     
         18 ) The enclosure of  claim 7  further comprising one or more features selected from the group consisting of a humidifier, a heater, a scent generating means, a flavored or unflavored mist generator, a fan, and audio equipment.
