Abstract

A bag filling assembly for holding a bag open for filling the bag includes a basket that is selectively positioned in a bag to retain the bag in an open position for filling the bag. A plurality of clips is provided and each of the clips is movably coupled to the basket. Each of the clips frictionally engages the bag to releasably retain the bag on the basket.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
I claim:

         1 . A bag filling assembly being configured to retain a bag in an open position thereby facilitating the bag to be filled, said assembly comprising:
 a basket being configured to be positioned in a bag such that said basket retains the bag in an open position for filling the bag; and a plurality of clips, each of said clips being coupled to said basket wherein each of said clips is configured to frictionally engage the bag to releasably retain the bag on said basket.

         2 . The assembly according to claim 1 , wherein said basket comprises a first ring having a top edge.

         3 . The assembly according to claim 2 , further comprising a second ring having a lower edge, an upper edge and a first surface extending therebetween, said second ring having a lip extending outwardly from said first surface, said lip being coextensive with said upper edge.

         4 . The assembly according to claim 3 , further comprising a plurality of legs, each of said legs extending between said top edge of said first ring and said lower edge of said second ring such that said second ring is spaced from said first ring, said legs being spaced apart from each other, said first ring being configured to be positioned in the bag, each of said legs being configured to inhibit the bag from collapsing, said second ring being configured to have a material poured therethrough for filling the bag.

         5 . The assembly according to claim 3 , wherein each of said clips has a first end and a second end, said first end corresponding to each of said clips being hingedly coupled to said first surface of said second ring, said second end corresponding to each of said clips being biased to frictionally engage said first surface wherein said second end is configured to compress the bag against said first surface.

         6 . A bag filling assembly being configured to retain a bag in an open position thereby facilitating the bag to be filled, said assembly comprising:
 a basket being configured to be positioned in a bag such that said basket retains the bag in an open position for filling the bag, said basket comprising:
 a first ring having a top edge;
 a second ring having a lower edge, an upper edge and a first surface extending therebetween, said second ring having a lip extending outwardly from said first surface, said lip being coextensive with said upper edge; and
 a plurality of legs, each of said legs extending between said top edge of said first ring and said lower edge of said second ring such that said second ring is spaced from said first ring, said legs being spaced apart from each other, said first ring being configured to be positioned in the bag, each of said legs being configured to inhibit the bag from collapsing, said second ring being configured to have a material poured therethrough for filling the bag; and
   a plurality of clips, each of said clips being coupled to said basket wherein each of said clips is configured to frictionally engage the bag to releasably retain the bag on said basket, each of said clips having a first end and a second end, said first end corresponding to each of said clips being hingedly coupled to said first surface of said second ring, said second end corresponding to each of said clips being biased to frictionally engage said first surface wherein said second end is configured to compress the bag against said first surface.
