Abstract
An image processing apparatus includes a first communication portion configured to wirelessly communicate with a terminal and a second communication portion configured to carry out near field communication with a terminal. A communication distance between the second communication portion and the terminal is shorter than a communication distance between the first communication portion and the terminal. The image processing apparatus further includes an adjustment portion configured to adjust a communication-established distance over which the first communication portion establishes communication with the terminal so as to match with a specific position at which the second communication portion establishes communication with the terminal.

2 . An image processing apparatus comprising:
a first communication portion configured to communicate under a first communication scheme with a first terminal capable of near field wireless communication under the first communication scheme; a second communication portion configured to communicate under a second communication scheme with a second terminal, the second terminal being capable of non near field wireless communication under the second communication scheme within a first distance longer than a possible communication distance under the first communication scheme; and a controller configured to establish communication with the first terminal and the second terminal, the controller being configured:
not to establish communication when the second terminal is brought closer to the image processing apparatus and when a distance between the second terminal and the image processing apparatus is longer than a second distance even though the distance between the second terminal and the image processing apparatus is shorter than the first distance, and
to establish communication when the second terminal is brought closer to the image processing apparatus and when the distance between the second terminal and the image processing apparatus is shorter than the second distance.
3 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the second distance refers to a distance over which communication with the first terminal is established through near field wireless communication.
4 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising:
a touch area over which the first terminal and the second terminal are to be held, wherein the controller is configured:
not to establish communication when the second terminal is brought closer to the touch area and when a distance between the second terminal and the touch area is longer than a second distance even though the distance between the second terminal and the touch area is shorter than the first distance; and
to establish communication when the second terminal is brought closer to the touch area and when the distance between the second terminal and the touch area is shorter than the second distance.
5 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 4 , wherein the touch area has a mark indicative of the touch area printed.
6 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 4 , further comprising an operation panel including a display,
wherein the touch area is formed in a region in an outer frame of the display of the operation panel.
7 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 6 , further comprising a mechanism configured to change a position of the operation panel,
wherein the controller is configured to control establishment of communication with the second terminal so as not to change the second distance in spite of change in position.
8 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the controller is configured to correct the second distance based on a state of communication between the second terminal and the second communication portion.
9 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the controller is configured to correct the second distance based on a state of communication between the first terminal and the first communication portion.
10 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the controller is configured to determine approach to a position at the second distance based on intensity of wireless waves received from the second terminal by the second communication portion and to establish communication.
11 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein the second communication portion is arranged at a position different from a position of the first communication portion.
12 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 2 , wherein near field communication (NFC) is defined as the first communication scheme and Bluetooth® is defined as the second communication scheme.
13 . An image processing apparatus comprising:
a first communication portion configured to communicate under a first communication scheme with a first terminal capable of communicating with another communication instrument under the first communication scheme within a range of a first communication distance; and a second communication portion configured to communicate under a second communication scheme with a second terminal capable of communicating with another communication instrument under the second communication scheme within a range of a second communication distance wider than the range of the first communication distance, the first communication portion being configured:
not to permit communication with the first terminal when the first terminal is outside the range of the first communication distance from the first communication portion; and
to permit communication with the first terminal when the first terminal is within the range of the first communication distance from the first communication portion,
the second communication portion being configured:
not to permit communication with the second terminal when the second terminal is outside a range of a third communication distance within the range of the second communication distance from the second communication portion; and
to permit communication with the second terminal when the second terminal is within the range of the third communication distance from the second communication portion.
14 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the third communication distance is equal to the first communication distance.
15 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 13 , further comprising a touch area over which the first terminal and the second terminal are to be held, wherein the second communication portion is configured:
not to permit communication with the second terminal when the second terminal is outside the range of the third communication distance within the range of the second communication distance from the touch area; and to permit communication with the second terminal when the second terminal is within the range of the third communication distance from the second communication portion.
16 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 15 , wherein the touch area has a mark indicative of the touch area printed.
17 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 15 , further comprising an operation panel including a display,
wherein the touch area is formed in a region in an outer frame of the display of the operation panel.
18 . The image processing apparatus according to claim 13 , wherein the second communication portion is arranged at a position different from a position of the first communication portion.
