Article carrying sling systems
Abstract
A sling for carrying multiple items is disclosed herein. A sling useful for providing a strap having a plurality of pockets easily accessible for a user, particularly when being active. The device may comprise the strap having a front-side and a back-side, the plurality of pockets may be integrated across the front-side. The strap may be wearable over a shoulder and across a chest of the user. An armpit strap may be placed under an arm of the user and secure the strap on the user. The plurality of pockets may be sized to accommodate a variety of personal items (i.e. cell phone dimensions). Further, the plurality of pockets may include zipper and hook-and-loop fasteners. The strap may be adjustable for a comfortable fit.

1 . A sling for carrying multiple items by a user, said user having a shoulder and a torso, said user defining a front, a back, a left side, and a right side, the sling comprising:
a main strap having a first-end, a second-end, a front side, a back side, and a first length measured between the first-end and the second-end, the main strap sized and dimensioned to be worn over the shoulder on one of the left side and the right side, and about the front, the other of the left side and the right side, and the back of the torso of the user, and further configured to carry the multiple items, the main strap including a strap couple configured to couple the first-end to the second-end; a support strap having a third-end, a fourth-end, and a second length measured between the third-end and the fourth-end, the support strap sized and dimensioned to extend from the front side of the main strap, about the one of the left side and the right side of the torso, and to the back side of the main strap, the support strap including a front couple and a back couple, said front couple affixed to the support strap proximate the third-end and configured to couple with the front side of the main strap, the back couple affixed to the support strap proximate the fourth-end and configured to couple the back side of the main strap; and a carrier assembly having a fifth-end, a sixth-end, and a third length measured between the fifth-end and the sixth-end, the carrier assembly including a carrier body configured to attach to the main strap and a plurality of storage compartments affixed to the carrier body, each of said plurality of storage compartments configured to stow at least one of the multiple items.

The sling of claim 1 wherein the carrier body includes a first strap aperture proximate the fifth-end and a second slot aperture proximate the sixth-end, the first strap aperture sized and dimensioned to permit the first-end of the main strap to pass through and couple with the carrier body, and the second strap aperture sized and dimensioned to permit the second-end of the main strap to pass through and couple with the carrier body.
3 . The sling of claim 2 , wherein the first strap aperture and the second strap aperture are sized and dimensioned to allow the carrier body to slide along the first length of the main strap.
4 . The sling of claim 3 , wherein the main strap defines a shoulder rest point, a front couple attach point and a back couple attach point, the front couple attach point and the back couple attach point being approximately equidistant from shoulder rest point, as measured along the first length.

The sling of claim 4 , further comprising a shoulder pad configured to attach to the main strap and intersperse a padding between the main strap and the shoulder when the main strap is worn over the shoulder of the user, the shoulder pad having a seventh-end, an eighth-end, and a fourth length measured between the seventh-end and the eighth-end, the shoulder pad including a third strap aperture proximate the seventh-end and a fourth slot aperture proximate the eighth-end, the third strap aperture and the fourth strap aperture each sized and dimensioned to permit the first-end of the main strap to pass through and couple with the shoulder pad.
6 . The sling of claim 5 , wherein an underside of the shoulder pad further includes a non-slip surface affixed to the shoulder pad and configured to inhibit slippage on the shoulder of the user when the main strap is worn over the shoulder of the user.
7 . The sling of claim 6 , wherein the support strap includes an adjustable segment positioned between the third-end and the fourth-end, the adjustable segment configured to adjust the second length of the support strap.
8 . The sling of claim 7 , wherein the adjustable segment includes a stretchable material.
9 . The sling of claim 8 , wherein the plurality of storage compartments are internally padded.
10 . The sling of claim 9 , wherein at least one of the plurality of storage compartments includes closure configured to repeatedly open and close the at least one of the plurality of storage compartments, the closure including a zipper.
11 . The sling of claim 9 , wherein at least one of the plurality of storage compartments includes closure configured to repeatedly open and close the at least one of the plurality of storage compartments, the closure including a hook and loop fastener
12 . The sling of claim 9 , wherein the plurality of compartments includes a first-compartment configured to stow a first-item, said first-item displacing a volume between 60 and 70 cubic centimeters.
13 . The sling of claim 12 , wherein the plurality of compartments includes a second-compartment configured to a second-item, said second -item displacing a volume between 5 and 20 cubic centimeters.
14 . The sling of claim 13 , wherein the plurality of compartments includes a third-compartment configured to stow a third-item, said third-item displacing a volume between 30 and 50 cubic centimeters.
15 . The sling of claim 14 , wherein the plurality of compartments includes a fourth-compartment configured to stow a fourth-item, said fourth-item displacing a volume between 25 and 40 cubic centimeters.
16 . The sling of claim 15 , wherein the plurality of compartments includes a fifth-compartment configured to stow a fifth-item, said fifth-item displacing a volume between 20 and 45 cubic centimeters.
17 . The sling of claim 1 , wherein the carrier housing is made of a combination of cloth, quilting and fleece.
18 . A sling for carrying multiple items by a user, said user having a shoulder and a torso, said user defining a front, a back, a left side, and a right side, the sling comprising:
a main strap having a first-end, a second-end, a front side, a back side, and a first length measured between the first-end and the second-end, the main strap sized and dimensioned to be worn over the shoulder on one of the left side and the right side, and about the front, the other of the left side and the right side, and the back of the torso of the user, and further configured to carry the multiple items, the main strap including a strap couple configured to couple the first-end to the second-end; a support strap having a third-end, a fourth-end, and a second length measured between the third-end and the fourth-end, the support strap sized and dimensioned to extend from the front side of the main strap, about the one of the left side and the right side of the torso, and to the back side of the main strap, the support strap including a front couple and a back couple, said front couple affixed to the support strap proximate the third-end and configured to couple with the front side of the main strap, the back couple affixed to the support strap proximate the fourth-end and configured to couple the back side of the main strap; and a carrier assembly having a fifth-end, a sixth-end, and a third length measured between the fifth-end and the sixth-end, the carrier assembly including a carrier body configured to attach to the main strap and a plurality of storage compartments affixed to the carrier body, each of said plurality of storage compartments configured to stow at least one of the multiple items; and wherein the carrier body includes a first strap aperture proximate the fifth-end and a second slot aperture proximate the sixth-end, the first strap aperture sized and dimensioned to permit the first-end of the main strap to pass through and couple with the carrier body, and the second strap aperture sized and dimensioned to permit the second-end of the main strap to pass through and couple with the carrier body; wherein the first strap aperture and the second strap aperture are sized and dimensioned to allow the carrier body to slide along the first length of the main strap; wherein at least one of the plurality of storage compartments includes closure configured to repeatedly open and close the at least one of the plurality of storage compartments; and wherein the plurality of compartments comprises a first-compartment configured to stow a first-item displacing a volume between 60 and 70 cubic centimeters, a second-compartment configured to a second-item displacing a volume between 5 and 20 cubic centimeters, a third-compartment configured to stow a third-item displacing a volume between 30 and 50 cubic centimeters, a fourth-compartment configured to stow a fourth-item displacing a volume between 25 and 40 cubic centimeters, and a fifth-compartment configured to stow a fifth-item displacing a volume between 20 and 45 cubic centimeters.
19 . The sling for carrying multiple items of claim 18 , further comprising set of instructions; and
wherein the sling for carrying multiple items is arranged as a kit.
20 . A method for carrying items by a user, said user having a shoulder and a torso, said user defining a front, a back, a left side, and a right side, the sling comprising, the method comprising the following steps:
providing a sling including
a main strap having a first-end, a second-end, a front side, a back side, and a first length measured between the first-end and the second-end, the main strap sized and dimensioned to be worn over the shoulder on one of the left side and the right side, and about the front, the other of the left side and the right side, and the back of the torso of the user, and further configured to carry the multiple items, the main strap including a strap couple configured to couple the first-end to the second-end,
a support strap having a third-end, a fourth-end, and a second length measured between the third-end and the fourth-end, the support strap sized and dimensioned to extend from the front side of the main strap, about the one of the left side and the right side of the torso, and to the back side of the main strap, the support strap including a front couple and a back couple, said front couple affixed to the support strap proximate the third-end and configured to couple with the front side of the main strap, the back couple affixed to the support strap proximate the fourth-end and configured to couple the back side of the main strap, and
a carrier assembly having a fifth-end, a sixth-end, and a third length measured between the fifth-end and the sixth-end, the carrier assembly including a carrier body configured to attach to the main strap and a plurality of storage compartments affixed to the carrier body, each of said plurality of storage compartments configured to stow at least one of the multiple items;
