System and method for providing a master gaming establishment account and a subsidiary gaming establishment account

Abstract

The present disclosure relates generally to a system that enables funds associated with certain controlling gaming establishment accounts to be accessed by certain other controlled gaming establishment accounts which have a predefined relationship with the controlling gaming establishment accounts.

The invention is claimed as follows: 
     
         1 . A system comprising:
 a processor; and   a memory device which stores a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:
 receive:
 data associated with a master gaming establishment account accessed via a mobile device application of a mobile device, and 
 data associated with a requested amount of funds to be electronically transferred from the master gaming establishment account to a subsidiary gaming establishment account, 
 
 responsive to a determination that the requested transfer complies with at least one restriction associated with the subsidiary gaming establishment account:
 reduce a balance of the master gaming establishment account based on the amount of funds, and 
 increase a balance of the subsidiary gaming establishment account based on the amount of funds, and 
 
 responsive to a determination that the requested transfer does not comply with the at least one restriction associated with the subsidiary gaming establishment account, not modify any balance of any account in association with the requested amount of funds to be electronically transferred from the master gaming establishment account to the subsidiary gaming establishment account. 
   
     
     
         2 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the master gaming establishment account comprises a master cashless wagering account. 
     
     
         3 . The system of  claim 2 , wherein the subsidiary gaming establishment account comprises one of: a subsidiary cashless wagering account and a subsidiary gaming establishment retail account. 
     
     
         4 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the master gaming establishment account comprises a master gaming establishment retail account. 
     
     
         5 . The system of  claim 4 , wherein the subsidiary gaming establishment account comprises one of: a subsidiary cashless wagering account and a subsidiary gaming establishment retail account. 
     
     
         6 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the at least one restriction associated with the subsidiary gaming establishment account is selected from the group consisting of: a restriction associated with how the subsidiary gaming establishment account is funded, a restriction associated with when the subsidiary gaming establishment account is funded, a restriction associated with a maximum balance of the subsidiary gaming establishment account, and a restriction associated with a minimum balance of the subsidiary gaming establishment account. 
     
     
         7 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is selected from the group consisting of: a processor of an electronic gaming machine, part of a controller of a cashless wagering system, part of a controller of a gaming establishment retail system, part of a controller of a gaming establishment credit system, and part of a controller of a gaming establishment fund management system. 
     
     
         8 . The system of  claim 1 , wherein the data associated with the requested amount of funds is wirelessly communicated via a wireless protocol selected from the group consisting of: a near field communication protocol, a WiFi protocol, a Bluetooth protocol, a Bluetooth Low Energy protocol, and a mobile device network protocol. 
     
     
         9 . A system comprising:
 a gaming establishment component processor; and   a gaming establishment component memory device which stores a plurality of instructions, which when executed by the gaming establishment component processor, cause the gaming establishment component processor to:
 receive data associated with a requested amount of funds to be electronically withdrawn from a subsidiary gaming establishment account, wherein the subsidiary gaming establishment account is accessed via a mobile device application of a mobile device and the subsidiary gaming establishment account is associated with a master gaming establishment account and at least one restriction established via the master gaming establishment account, 
 responsive to a determination that the requested withdrawal complies with the at least one restriction, reduce a balance of the master gaming establishment account based on the amount of funds, and 
 responsive to a determination that the requested transfer does not comply with the at least one restriction, not modify any balance of the subsidiary gaming establishment account in association with the requested amount of funds to be electronically withdrawn from the subsidiary gaming establishment account. 
   
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the master gaming establishment account comprises a master cashless wagering account and the subsidiary gaming establishment account comprises a subsidiary cashless wagering account. 
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10 , wherein the data is received in association with a requested transfer of funds to an electronic gaming machine. 
     
     
         12 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the master gaming establishment account comprises a master gaming establishment retail account and the subsidiary gaming establishment account comprises a subsidiary gaming establishment retail account. 
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the data is received in association with a requested transfer of funds to a point of sale terminal. 
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the at least one restriction associated with the subsidiary account is selected from the group consisting of: a restriction associated with how funds may be withdrawn from the subsidiary gaming establishment account, a restriction associated with when funds may be withdrawn from the subsidiary gaming establishment account, and a restriction associated with an amount of funds withdrawn from the subsidiary gaming establishment account. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the gaming establishment component processor is selected from the group consisting of: a processor of an electronic gaming machine, part of a controller of a cashless wagering system, part of a controller of a gaming establishment retail system, part of a controller of a gaming establishment credit system, and part of a controller of a gaming establishment fund management system. 
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 9 , wherein the data associated with the requested amount of funds is wirelessly communicated via a wireless protocol selected from the group consisting of: a near field communication protocol, a WiFi protocol, a Bluetooth protocol, a Bluetooth Low Energy protocol, and a mobile device network protocol.
