Mobile commercial systems and methods
Abstract
Methods, systems, and machine-readable media are disclosed for utilizing mobile electronic devices in various types of financial transactions. According to one embodiment, a method of providing a plurality of mobile commerce functions can comprise receiving a communication related to a function of a mobile wallet application of a mobile device. One or more of a plurality of acquirer systems for handling of the communication can be identified based on the function of the mobile wallet application to which the communication relates. The communication can be routed to the identified one or more acquirer systems for handling of the communication. In some cases, a reply to the communication can be received from at least one of the identified one or more acquirer systems and the reply can be sent to a recipient.

4 . The mobile commerce gateway for providing an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 1 , wherein:
the reply comprises an approval message; and the processor is further configured to send the approval message to a POS device associated with the payment.
5 . The mobile commerce gateway for providing an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 1 , wherein:
the communication further comprises an identity credential of the customer, the identity credential comprising information for authenticating or verifying the customer; and the customer has previously been authenticated using the identity credential.
6 . The mobile commerce gateway for providing an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 1 , wherein:
the identity credential is received from the mobile device via a near field communication (NFC) interface of a point of sale device.
7 . The mobile commerce gateway for providing an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 1 , wherein:
the instructions further cause the processor to provision the mobile wallet application to the mobile device.
8 . A method of sending an e-receipt to a mobile device, comprising:
receiving, using a mobile commerce gateway, a communication related to a function of a plurality of functions of a mobile wallet application of a mobile device of a customer, wherein the communication comprises:
information related to a customer loyalty program; and
information related to a payment;
identifying, by the mobile commerce gateway, one or more acquirer systems operated by the business entity for handling of the communication, wherein the one or more acquirer systems are identified based on the communication received from the merchant system, wherein each of the one or more acquirer systems comprises an additional processor, a network interface in communication with the mobile commerce gateway, and an additional memory communicatively connected with and readable by the additional processor, the additional memory containing instructions that, when executed by the additional processor, cause the additional processor to perform one or more functions associated with the communication; routing, by the mobile commerce gateway, the communication to the one or more acquirer systems for handling of the payment and for handling of the customer loyalty program; receiving, by the mobile commerce gateway, a reply to the communication from at least one of the one or more acquirer systems; generating, by the mobile commerce gateway, an electronic receipt corresponding to the payment, the electronic receipt comprising transaction information; and providing, by the mobile commerce gateway, the electronic receipt to the mobile wallet application of the mobile device for synchronization with the mobile wallet application of the mobile device.
9 . The method of sending an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 8 , wherein:
the electronic receipt is provided to the mobile wallet application of the mobile device as a transmission routed through a personal computer of the customer.
10 . The method of sending an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 8 , wherein:
the electronic receipt is transmitted directly from the mobile commerce gateway over at least one network.
11 . The method of sending an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 8 , wherein:
the electronic receipt is provided to the mobile wallet application of the mobile device as a transmission routed through an NFC interface of a merchant point of sale device.
12 . The method of sending an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 8 , wherein:
wherein the plurality of functions of the mobile wallet application comprise a payment function, an account information lookup function, a registration function, a marketing function, and a provisioning function.
13 . The method of sending an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 8 , wherein:
the e-receipt comprises information related to the completion of the purchase; and the information related to the completion of the purchase comprises at least one of a dollar amount, a transaction amount, and a transaction date.
14 . The method of sending an e-receipt to a mobile device of claim 13 , wherein:
the information related to the completion of the purchase further comprises at least one of payee information, information to identify the purchase, information to track the purchase, and information to record the purchase.
15 . A non-transitory machine-readable medium having stored thereon a series of instruction which, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to send an e-receipt to a mobile device by:
