Abstract

A filter cleaning device for an air conditioner, includes: a filter through which an air flow passes, the filter having a filter surface; a brush that is contactable with the filter surface, removes particulate matter from the filter surface, and has a cylindrical shape; and a motor that rotates the brush in opposite directions to each other; a first comb-shaped member engaged with the brush; and a second comb-shaped member engaged with the brush, wherein the first and second comb-shaped members each have a length direction parallel to an axis of rotation of the brush and parallel to a width direction of each of the first and second comb-shaped members, and the first and second comb-shaped members are inclined away from each other in a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the brush.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 .- 15 . (canceled)

16 . A filter cleaning device for an air conditioner, comprising:
a filter through which an air flow passes, the filter having a filter surface; a brush that removes particulate matter from the filter surface and has a cylindrical shape; and a motor that rotates the brush; a first comb-shaped member engaged with the brush; and a second comb-shaped member engaged with the brush, wherein the first and second comb-shaped members each have a length direction parallel to an axis of rotation of the brush and parallel to a width direction of each of the first and second comb-shaped members, and the first and second comb-shaped members are inclined away from each other in a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the brush.

17 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 16 , wherein the width direction of the first comb-shaped member is angled with respect to a first tangent on a circle having a common center axis with the axis of rotation of the brush at a positive angle, and the width direction of the second comb-shaped member is angled with respect to a second tangent that is on the circle and is perpendicular to the first tangent at a negative angle.

18 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 17 , wherein an absolute value of the positive angle is identical to an absolute value of the negative angle.

19 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 16 , wherein the first comb-shaped member is inclined away from the axis of rotation of the brush in the first rotating direction, and the second comb-shaped member is inclined away from the axis of rotation of the brush in the second rotating direction.

20 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 16 , further comprising:
a first rotatable separation roller extending parallel to the axis of rotation of the brush and disposed upstream of the first comb-shaped member in the first rotating direction; and a second rotatable separation roller extending parallel to the axis of rotation of the brush and disposed upstream of the second comb-shaped member in the second rotating direction.

21 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 20 , wherein the first separation roller rotates in a direction opposite to the first rotating direction, and the second separation roller rotates in a direction opposite to the second rotating direction.

22 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 20 , wherein the first and second separation roller are driven by the motor.

23 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 16 , wherein the brush is reciprocally and translationally movable along the filter surface.

24 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 23 , wherein the motor rotates the brush in a movement direction of the brush along the filter surface.

25 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 16 , further comprising a dust box that receives the particulate matter removed from the filter by the brush.

26 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 16 , wherein the brush comprises a body and a plurality of bristles radially extending from the body.

27 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 16 , further comprising:
a third comb-shaped member engaged with the brush; and a fourth comb-shaped member engaged with the brush, wherein the third and fourth comb-shaped members each have a length direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the brush and parallel to a width direction of the third and fourth comb-shaped members, respectively.

28 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 27 , wherein the third comb-shaped member is directed toward the first comb-shaped member and the fourth comb-shaped member is directed toward the second comb-shaped member.

29 . The filter cleaning device according to claim 27 , wherein the third comb-shaped member is inclined toward the axis of rotation of the brush in the first rotating direction, and the fourth comb-shaped member is inclined toward the axis of rotation of the brush in the second rotating direction.

30 . An air conditioner comprises a filter cleaning device according to claim 16 .
