Abstract

A filter for an aerosol generating device is disclosed. The filter contains a breakable capsule and the breakable capsule includes an aerosol modifier.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A filter for an aerosol generating device, the filter containing a breakable capsule and the breakable capsule comprising an aerosol modifier.

. The filter according to claim 1 , wherein a pressure difference across the filter when a user inhales is in a range of 30 mmH 2 O to 90 mmH 2 O, when the breakable capsule is in an unbroken state.

. The filter according to claim 2 , wherein the pressure difference across the filter when the user inhales is in the range of 35 mmH 2 O to 60 mmH 2 O when the breakable capsule is in an unbroken state.

. The filter according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol modifier comprises a flavorant.

. The filter according to claim 4 , wherein the capsule has a core-shell structure and the core comprises at least about 25% w/w flavorant, based on the total weight of the core.

. The filter according to claim 1 , wherein the breakable capsule is substantially spherical and has a diameter in a range of about 0.4 mm to about 8.0 mm.

. The filter according to claim 1 , wherein the breakable capsule weighs between about 5 mg and about 60 mg.

. The filter according to claim 1 , wherein the aerosol modifier is encapsulated by a barrier material, the barrier material comprising one or more of a gelling agent, a bulking agent, a coloring agent, a plasticizer, or a filler material.

. A consumable for an aerosol generating device, the consumable comprising a filter according to claim 1 .

. The consumable according to claim 9 , further comprising one or more of an aerosol generating agent, a flavorant or a tobacco material.

. The consumable according to claim 9 , wherein the consumable has a mouthpiece portion that is not directly heated in use.

. The consumable according to claim 11 , wherein the filter is in the mouthpiece portion of the consumable.

. The consumable according to claim 9 , wherein the consumable comprises only one capsule.

. The consumable according to claim 9 , wherein the consumable is substantially cylindrical.

. An aerosol generating device comprising a filter according to claim 1 .

. The aerosol generating device according to claim 15 , wherein the aerosol generating device is a tobacco heating product.

. The aerosol generating device according to claim 16 , wherein the tobacco heating product comprises a substrate chamber, a heater and a cooling chamber, wherein the heater is disposed around the substrate chamber to form an oven-type arrangement in which the substrate is heated during use.

. A method comprising:
providing a breakable capsule comprising an aerosol modifier in a filter for an aerosol generating device, to provide sustained release of the aerosol modifier.

. The filter according to claim 3 , wherein the pressure difference across the filter when the user inhales is in the range of 38 mmH 2 O to 55 mmH 2 O when the breakable capsule is in an unbroken state.

. The filter according to claim 19 , wherein the pressure difference across the filter when the user inhales is in the range of 40 mmH 2 O to 50 mmH 2 O when the breakable capsule is in an unbroken state.

. The filter according to claim 4 , wherein the flavorant is menthol.

. The consumable according to claim 9 , wherein the consumable comprises more than one capsule and the core composition of each capsule is different.

. An aerosol generating device comprising a consumable according to claim 9 .
