Abstract

A carrier body for grinding tools has an inner hub ring which surrounds a central bore for connecting the grinding tool to a rotary drive, and an jacket ring for receiving a grinding means, in particular in the form of a galvanic coating, a grinding ring, or a plurality of grinding segments. The hub ring and the jacket ring are connected to one another by several webs, which are spaced apart from one another, and the webs each have at least one recess.

A carrier body for grinding tools having an inner hub ring surrounding a central bore for connecting the grinding tool to a rotary drive, and an outer casing ring for receiving a grinding means, in particular in the form of a galvanic coating, a grinding ring or a plurality of grinding segments, wherein the hub ring and the casing ring are connected together by way of a plurality of mutually spaced webs, wherein the webs each have at least one respective opening. 
     
     
         2 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the webs have at least two web portions spaced from each other by the at least one opening. 
     
     
         3 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 2 , wherein the web portions
 are of an arcuate configuration, and/or   are of a mirror-image symmetrical configuration relative to a plane oriented parallel to the axis of rotation of the carrier body, and/or   mutually intersect, and/or   provide at least one contact location.   
     
     
         4 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 2 , wherein a web portion of a web form a respective cut-off arc with a web portion of an adjacent web, wherein the tips of the arcs which are notionally completed lie outside the casing ring. 
     
     
         5 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 2 , wherein a web portion of a web respectively form an arc with a web portion of an adjacent web, wherein the tips of the arcs touch the casing ring. 
     
     
         6 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 4 , wherein the arcs are of a parabolic configuration or an ogival configuration. 
     
     
         7 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the webs widen towards the casing ring and/or towards the hub ring in the plane of the carrier body. 
     
     
         8 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein at least one of the two outer lateral surfaces of the carrier body, that are oriented substantially normal to the axis of rotation of the carrier body has a cover means. 
     
     
         9 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 8 , wherein the cover means is connected in one piece or by way of fixing means to the webs and/or the hub ring and/or the casing ring. 
     
     
         10 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein the carrier body has a central plane which is oriented substantially normal to the axis of rotation of the carrier body and which subdivides the carrier body into two mutually distinguishable halves. 
     
     
         11 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 10 , wherein a membrane is arranged in the central plane. 
     
     
         12 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 10 , wherein the halves of the carrier body
 are connected together, preferably releasably, at the central plane, and/or   are of a mirror-image symmetrical configuration relative to the central plane, and/or   are of an identical configuration and are arranged turned relative to each other by a given, preferably half of, an angular spacing of two adjacent webs.   
     
     
         13 . The carrier body as set forth in  claim 1 , wherein
 the carrier body is of a radius of between 200 mm and 300 mm, preferably 250 mm, and/or   the hub ring and the casing ring are at a spacing relative to each other of between 50 mm and 150 mm, preferably 100 mm, and/or   the central bore is of a radius of between 50 mm and 150 mm, preferably 63.5 mm or 101.6 mm, and/or   the carrier body is of a substantially rotationally symmetrical configuration, and/or   the hub ring and the casing ring are connected together by way of a number of webs, wherein the number corresponds to a primary number and/or an odd number, and/or   the carrier body is made from a metal.   
     
     
         14 . A grinding tool comprising the carrier body as set forth in  claim 1  and a grinding member connected to the casing ring, in particular in the form of a galvanic coating, a grinding ring or a plurality of grinding segments.
