Abstract

A saw blade for use with a power tool includes a body with a first planar surface and a second planar surface opposite the first planar surface. The saw blade also includes an attachment portion that is configured to couple to the power tool. The attachment portion includes a tang and an aperture. The saw blade further includes a cutting edge with a plurality of cutting teeth and a plurality of hexagons formed on the first planar surface. The plurality of hexagons are arranged in a honeycomb pattern in which at least one side of each hexagon is substantially parallel to a corresponding side of an adjacent hexagon.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A saw blade for use with a power tool, the saw blade comprising:
a body including a first planar surface and a second planar surface opposite the first planar surface; an attachment portion configured to couple to the power tool, the attachment portion including a tang and an aperture; a cutting edge including a plurality of cutting teeth; and a plurality of hexagons formed on the first planar surface, the plurality of hexagons being arranged in a honeycomb pattern in which at least one side of each hexagon is substantially parallel to a corresponding side of an adjacent hexagon.

2 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein the pattern further includes a grid defined between the plurality of hexagons, wherein one of the grid and the plurality of hexagons is raised relative to the other of the grid and the plurality of hexagons.

3 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein each hexagon of the plurality of hexagons includes a perimeter, wherein the perimeter is depressed relative to a corresponding hexagon of the plurality of hexagons.

4 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein the pattern extends along the attachment portion.

5 . The saw blade of claim 1 , wherein the pattern extends along the entire first surface.

6 . The saw blade of claim 1 , further comprising a plurality of hexagons formed on the second planar surface, the plurality of hexagons formed on the second planar surface being arranged in a honeycomb pattern in which at least one side of each hexagon of the plurality of hexagons is substantially parallel to a corresponding side of an adjacent hexagon of the plurality of hexagons.

7 . The saw blade of claim 6 , wherein the pattern on the first planar surface is aligned with the pattern on the second planar surface.

8 . The saw blade of claim 6 , wherein the pattern on the first planar surface is offset from the pattern on the second planar surface.

9 . The saw blade of claim 1 , further comprising a rib arrangement formed on the first planar surface, the rib arrangement including a first rib and a second rib.

10 . The saw blade of claim 9 , wherein the first and second ribs each include a first portion and a second portion, the first portion of each of the ribs extends at least partially along the attachment portion adjacent to the aperture on opposing sides of the aperture such that the aperture is disposed between the first portions, and the second portion of each of the ribs extends along at least a portion of the body.

11 . A saw blade for use with a power tool, the saw blade comprising:
a body including a first planar surface and a second planar surface opposite the first planar surface; an attachment portion configured to couple to the power tool, the attachment portion including a tang and an aperture; a cutting edge including a plurality of cutting teeth; a pattern of discrete shapes on the first planar surface of the body; and a grid defined between the pattern of discrete shapes on the first planar surface, the grid being raised with respect to the pattern of discrete shapes.

12 . The saw blade of claim 11 , wherein the grid is raised relative to the pattern of discrete shapes by between 0.000 and 0.005 inches.

13 . The saw blade of claim 11 , wherein at least some discrete shapes of the pattern of discrete shapes are raised relative to other discrete shapes of the pattern of discrete shapes.

14 . The saw blade of claim 11 , further comprising a rib arrangement formed on the first planar surface, the rib arrangement including a first rib and a second rib.

15 . The saw blade of claim 11 , wherein each discrete shape of the pattern of discrete shapes includes a perimeter, and wherein the perimeter is depressed relative to a corresponding discrete shape of the pattern of discrete shapes.

16 . The saw blade of claim 11 , wherein each discrete shape of the pattern of discrete shapes is a polygon.

17 . The saw blade of claim 16 , wherein each discrete shape of the pattern of discrete shapes is a hexagon to form a honeycomb pattern.

18 . A saw blade for use with a power tool, the saw blade comprising:
a body including a first planar surface and a second planar surface opposite the first planar surface; an attachment portion configured to couple to the power tool, the attachment portion including a tang and an aperture; a cutting edge including a plurality of cutting teeth; a pattern of discrete shapes on the first planar surface of the body; and a grid defined between the pattern of discrete shapes on the first planar surface; wherein at least some of the discrete shapes of the pattern of discrete shapes are raised with respect to the grid.
