Abstract
The present application discloses a method for treating microbial infection using an antimicrobial composition comprises antimicrobial peptide which contains at least one VGFPV motif.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method of treating a microbial infection, comprising:
administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of an antimicrobial peptide comprising a first antimicrobial domain comprising at least two VGVSV (SEQ ID NO:2) motifs.
2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide has a length of 10-200 amino acids.
3 . (canceled)
4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide comprises at least one VGVSV motif at the N-terminal.
5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide comprises at least one VGVSV motif at the C-terminal.
6 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide comprises the amino acid sequence of VGVSVAAVGVSV (SEQ ID NO:4).
7 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide further comprises a second antimicrobial domain, wherein said second antimicrobial domain is different from said first antimicrobial domain.
8 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide further comprises a cell penetrating peptide (CPP) domain.
9 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide further comprises a targeting domain.
10 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide is administered in combination with another antimicrobial agent.
11 . The method of claim 10 , wherein said another antimicrobial agent is another antimicrobial peptide.
12 . The method of claim 10 , wherein said another antimicrobial agent is an in vivo expression vector encoding said antimicrobial peptide.
13 . The method of claim 10 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide is a PEGylated peptide.
14 - 18 . (canceled)
19 . A pharmaceutical composition for treating microbial infection, comprising:
(1) an antimicrobial peptide comprising a first antimicrobial domain comprising two VGVSV (SEQ ID NO:2) motifs, and a cell penetrating peptide (CPP) domain and/or a targeting domain; and (2) a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier.
20 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 19 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide is a PEGylated peptide.
21 . The pharmaceutical composition of claim 19 , wherein said antimicrobial peptide further comprises a second antimicrobial domain, wherein said second antimicrobial domain is different from said first antimicrobial domain.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
