Abstract
A liquid cleaning composition including: at least 80 wt. % liquid solvent; a cationic quaternary amine biocide; and a non-cationic moisturizing agent, wherein the composition reduces bacteria by at least 2.0 log 10 when assessed using ASTM E1174 and reduces drying of the stratum corneum compared with a water control between 30 and 180 minutes after application.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A liquid cleaning composition, the composition comprising:
at least 80 wt.
2 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising an ionic zinc compound, wherein the zinc compound comprises 0.01 wt. % to 0.5 wt. 5 of the composition.
3 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising a second cationic quaternary amine biocide, wherein the second cationic quaternary amine biocide comprises 0.5 wt. % to 5 wt. % of the composition.
4 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the composition is substantially free of low molecular weight mono-alcohols.
5 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the liquid solvent is water.
6 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the reduction in drying of the stratum corneum is assessed with a lower leg controlled application test (LCAT).
7 . The composition of claim 1 , wherein the cationic quaternary amine biocide is benzalkonium chloride (BAC).
8 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising two non-ionic surfactants.
9 . The composition of claim 1 , further comprising 0.002 wt. % to 5 wt. % of an unmodified polyglycol of 6 to 12 repeat units.
10 . A liquid cleaning composition, the composition comprising:
at least 80 wt. % water; a first cationic quaternary amine biocide; a second cationic quaternary amine biocide; and an unmodified polyglycol, wherein the composition reduces bacteria by at least 2.0 log 10 when assessed using ASTM E1174 and reduces drying of the stratum corneum compared with a water control between 30 and 180 minutes after application as assessed with a lower leg controlled application test (LCAT).
11 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising an ionic zinc compound, wherein the zinc compound comprises 0.01 wt. % to 0.5 wt. % of the composition.
12 . The composition of claim 10 , wherein the first cationic quaternary amine biocide is benzalkonium chloride (BAC) and the second cationic quaternary amine biocide is a cetrimonium salt.
13 . The composition of claim 10 , further comprising a non-ionic surfactant, wherein the non-ionic surfactant comprises 0.03 wt. % to 6 wt. % of the composition.
14 . A liquid cleaning composition, the composition comprising:
at least 80 wt. % water; 0.06 wt. % to 1 wt. % of a cationic biocide; 0.7 wt. % to 3 wt. % glycerin; 0.01 wt. % to 5 wt. % of a polycarboxylic acid and/or salt thereof; and 0.01 wt. % to 1 wt. % myristamidopropylamine oxide.
15 . The composition of claim 14 , wherein the cationic biocide comprises benzethoium chloride (BZC).
16 . The composition of claim 14 , wherein the polycarboxyllic acid and/or salt thereof is comprises three carboxyl groups per molecule.
17 . The composition of claim 14 , wherein the polycarboxylic acid and/or salt comprises an acid selected from the group consisting of: citric acid, a citrate salt, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), an EDTA salt, oxalic acid, an oxalate salt, and mixtures thereof.
18 . The composition of claim 14 , wherein the composition is at least 90 wt. % water.
19 . The composition of claim 14 , further comprising a non-ionic surfactant.
20 . The composition of claim 14 , further comprising an unmodified polyethylene glycol of 5 to 18 C 2 H 4 repeat units linked by ether bonds and also comprising a non-ionic surfactant.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
