Abstract

Methods, apparatus and systems for enabling interference avoidance, for example from self and neighboring interference are disclosed. In one representative method implemented in a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) using time-frequency (TF) resources in first and second directions, the method includes comprising TF resource muting or symbol muting, by the WTRU, one or more TF resources for communication in the first direction based on information associated with a communication in the second direction or subframe shortening, by the WTRU, by one or more TF resources for communication in the first direction based on information associated with a communication in the second direction.

         137 . A method implemented in a Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) for transmission in a first direction, the method comprising:
 obtaining information associated with a communication in a second direction indicating a self-interference condition, a potential self-interference condition, a neighboring interference condition or a potential neighboring interference condition; and   configuring the WTRU for an interference avoiding TF resource structure on condition that the obtained information indicates any of: the self-interference condition, the potential self-interference condition, the neighboring interference condition and/or the potential neighboring interference condition.   
     
     
         138 . The method of  claim 137 , wherein the obtained information indicates a priority or a relative priority of one or more control signals or one or more control channels associated with the communication in the second direction. 
     
     
         139 . The method of  claim 138 , wherein the configuring of the WTRU for the interference avoiding TF resource structure includes TF resource muting or symbol muting, based on the obtained information, one or more TF resources of a subframe associated with a communication in the first direction. 
     
     
         140 . The method of  claim 139 , wherein the configuring of the WTRU for the interference avoiding TF resource structure includes any of: time or frequency shifting one or more control signals or control channels associated with the muted TF resources within the subframe to be carried over one or more other TF resources within the subframe. 
     
     
         141 . The method of  claim 140 , further comprising transmitting, by the WTRU, the one or more TF resources that are TF resource muted or symbol muted and one or more other TF resources carrying the time and/or frequency shifted one or more control signals or one or more control channels. 
     
     
         142 . The method of  claim 137 , wherein:
 the self-interference condition indicates interference between TF resources for transmission in the first direction from the WTRU and priority TF resources for reception in the second direction by the WTRU; and   the neighboring interference condition indicates interference between or among TF resources for transmission in the first direction from the WTRU and priority TF resources for reception in the second direction by one or more other WTRUs.   
     
     
         143 . The method of  claim 137 , further comprising generating the interference avoiding TF resource structure by any of: TF muting, symbol muting or subframe shortening.

The method of  claim 137 , wherein the obtained information includes an indication to selectively TF mute, selectively symbol mute and/or selectively subframe shorten one or more TF resources, one or more symbols and/or one or more subframes based on a priority or a relative priority of any of: one or more signals, one or more channels, one or more RBs, one or more REs or one or more symbols.

The method of  claims 137 , wherein the obtained information includes an indication that any of: one or more reference signals, one or more control channels, one or more resource elements or one or more Resource Blocks in the communication in the second direction are a priority. 
     
     
         146 . The method of  claims 137 , wherein:
 the communication in the first direction is a transmission from the WTRU; and   the communication in the second direction is received as: (1) a transmission from a network entity in a downlink communication with the WTRU, (2) a transmission from another WTRU in communication with the WTRU or (3) a transmission from the other WTRU in communication with the network entity or a further WTRU.   
     
     
         147 . A Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit (WTRU) configured to transmit in a first direction, comprising:
 a transmit/receive unit configured to obtain information associated with a communication in a second direction indicating a self-interference condition, a potential self-interference condition, a neighboring interference condition or a potential neighboring interference condition; and   a processor configured to configure the WTRU for an interference avoiding TF resource structure on condition that the obtained information indicates any of: the self-interference condition, the potential self-interference condition, the neighboring interference condition and/or the potential neighboring interference condition.   
     
     
         148 . The WTRU of  claim 147 , wherein the obtained information indicates a priority or a relative priority of one or more control signals or one or more control channels associated with the communication in the second direction. 
     
     
         149 . The WTRU of  claim 148 , wherein the processor is configured to TF resource mute or symbol mute, based on the obtained information, one or more TF resources of a subframe associated with a communication in the first direction. 
     
     
         150 . The WTRU of  claim 149 , wherein the interference avoiding TF resource structure includes any of: a time and/or frequency shift of one or more control signals or control channels associated with the muted TF resources within the subframe to be carried over one or more other TF resources within the subframe. 
     
     
         151 . The WTRU of  claim 150 , wherein the transmit/receive unit is configured to transmit the one or more TF resources that are TF resource muted or symbol muted and one or more other TF resources carrying the time and/or frequency shifted one or more control signals or one or more control channels. 
     
     
         152 . The WTRU of  claim 147 , wherein:
 the self-interference condition indicates interference between TF resources for transmission in the first direction from the WTRU and priority TF resources for reception in the second direction by the WTRU; and   the neighboring interference condition indicates interference between or among TF resources for transmission in the first direction from the WTRU and priority TF resources for reception in the second direction by one or more other WTRUs.   
     
     
         153 . The WTRU of  claim 147 , wherein the processor is configured to generate the interference avoiding TF resource structure by any of: TF muting, symbol muting or subframe shortening.

The WTRU of  claim 147 , wherein the obtained information includes an indication to selectively TF mute, selectively symbol mute and/or selectively subframe shorten one or more TF resources, one or more symbols and/or one or more subframes based on a priority or a relative priority of any of: one or more signals, one or more channels, one or more RBs, one or more REs or one or more symbols. 
     
     
         155 . The WTRU of  claim 147 , wherein the obtained information includes an indication that any of: one or more reference signals, one or more control channels, one or more resource elements or one or more Resource Blocks in the communication in the second direction are a priority. 
     
     
         156 . The WTRU of  claim 137 , wherein:
 the communication in the first direction is a transmission from the WTRU; and   the communication in the second direction is received as: (1) a transmission from a network entity in a downlink communication with the WTRU, (2) a transmission from another WTRU in communication with the WTRU or (3) a transmission from the other WTRU in communication with the network entity or a further WTRU.
