Abstract
Provided in one embodiment is an herbal compositions for the prevention or treatment of urogenital system disorders including urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, enuresis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, nocturia, cystitis, urinary calculi, or a urinary tract infection. Specifically one embodiment provides compositions that contain Crateva nurvala, Equisetum arvense, and Lindera aggregate and methods of use thereof.

1 . A method for treating or reducing the symptoms of urinary incontinence or overactive bladder, comprising administering an effective amount to a subject in need thereof of an herb-containing composition, comprising:
a Crateva nurvala extract preparation; (ii) an Equisetum arvense extract preparation; and (iii) a Lindera aggregata extract preparation;
wherein the herb-containing composition is formulated as an oral dosage unit whereby the oral dosage unit is in a form selected from a tablet, capsule or caplet.
2 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the treatment results in a reduction in at least one of (i) urinary incontinence and (ii) overactive bladder symptom after about two weeks.
3 . The method of claim 13 , wherein the treatment results in a reduction in at least one of (i) urinary incontinence and (ii) overactive bladder symptom after about one month.
4 . The method of claim 13 , wherein at least one of the extracts is prepared by a process comprising:
extracting the Crateva nurvala preparation from Crateva nurvala stem/bark at an extract ratio of between about 25 and 35; (ii) extracting the Equisetum arvense extract preparation from Equisetum arvense stem at an exact ratio of about 10; and (iii) extracting the Lindera aggregata preparation from Lindera aggregata root at an extract ratio of about 10.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
