Abstract
This invention relates to personal care compositions and methods of treating topical skin conditions using compositions containing polymeric sulfur Sn. The compositions of this invention may also preferably contain —SH-containing compounds such as thiols.

15 . A method of treating topical skin conditions comprising application to the skin of a composition comprising polymeric sulfur S n , wherein said polymeric sulfur S n is substantially free of non-cosmetic oil.
16 . A method of treating topical skin conditions according to claim 15 wherein said composition further comprises a compound containing an —SH moiety.
17 . A method of treating topical skin conditions according to claim 16 wherein said skin condition is acne vulgaris.
18 . A method of treating topical skin conditions according to claim 16 wherein said skin condition is inflammation.
19 . A method according to claim 15 wherein said sulfur component comprises soluble sulfur and polymeric sulfur.
20 . A method according to claim 15 wherein said composition further comprises ingredients active in treating acne selected from the group consisting of resorcinol, resorcinol monoacetate, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide and a combination thereof.
21 . A method of treating topical skin conditions according to claim 16 wherein said skin condition is infection by a microorganism.
22 . A method of treating topical skin conditions according to claim 16 wherein said skin condition is from the group of skin diseases including Seborrheic dermatitis, dandruff, Tinea versicolor , superficial dermatophytes, Scabies, Rosacea, Perioral dermatitis, Demodectic eruptions, Psoriasis, eczema and atopic dermatitis.
23 . A method of improving skin barrier function, comprising topically applying to skin in need of treatment for barrier function.
24 . A method of treating a sign of skin aging, comprising topically applying to skin in need of treatment for skin aging.
