Abstract
A system ( 1 ) for collecting data for golf includes: a first detection system ( 11 ) which includes a portable sensor ( 15, 37 ) and is suitable for generating a first determination signal ( 19, 41 ) representing a time likely to correspond to the hitting of a golf ball; a second detection system ( 12 ) for determining whether a sound is likely to correspond to the hitting of a golf ball ( 4 ) by a golf club ( 3 ) used by a golfer ( 2 ), and for generating a second determination signal ( 25 ) representing a time that is likely to correspond to the hitting of a golf ball; a processing means ( 20 ) for receiving the first and second determination signals ( 19, 41, 25 ), comparing same, determining an event ( 27 ) of the golf club ( 3 ) hitting a golf ball ( 4 ) in the event of a positive result from the comparison, and storing the event ( 27 ) in a memory unit ( 28 ).

a first sensor configured to attach to a golf club and to generate a first signal indicating a likelihood that the golf club hit a golf ball; a second sensor configured to generate a second signal indicating a likelihood that the golf club hit the golf ball; a tracking label configured to generate a signal having a frequency representative of the golf club; and based on an orientation of the golf club, a processor configured to:
receive the first signal and the second signal,
compare the first signal and the second signal,
determine whether the golf club hit the golf ball based on the comparison,
receive the signal representative of the golf club, and
when it is determined the golf club hit the golf ball, record in memory data indicating the hit and the golf club based on the signal representative of the golf club.
2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first sensor or the second sensor is a microphone configured to detect a sound of the golf club hitting the golf ball.
3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first sensor or the second sensor is a vibration sensor configured to detect a vibration of the golf club hitting the golf ball.
4 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the first sensor or the second sensor is an accelerometer.
5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein comparing the first signal and the second signals comprises comparing a time representative of the first signal and a time representative of the second signal.
6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the tracking label comprises:
a frequency emitter configured to emit the signal associated with the golf club; a battery supplying power to the frequency emitter; a passive orientation switch configured to selectively allow the supply of power from the battery to the frequency emitter based on the orientation of the golf club.
7 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising a passive orientation detector configured to detect the orientation of the golf club and allow transmission of the first signal, the second signal, and/or the signal representative of the golf club based on the detected orientation of the golf club.
8 . The system as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a positioning system configured to determine a geographic location, wherein when it is determined the golf club hit the golf ball, the processor is further configured to record in memory the determined geographic location.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
