Flat sheet ring-like adapters for beer pong game alternative and method of making promotional cup adapters

Abstract

A flat sheet is pre-scored or perforated to show two or more adapter cup, clip devices per sheet. The adapter clips let smaller drinking cups rest atop the upper rims of larger drinking cups when playing a modified version of beer pong that uses harder (i.e., non-beer) alcohols. On the sheets themselves, the ring-like adapter clips and/or the removed center portions thereof, there would be pre-printed one or more promotional displays selected from the group consisting of sports team logos, school colors/nicknames, product discounts, radio station and/or fraternity tie-ins.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A flat sheet of a material with sufficient rigidity that one or more round ring-like inserts removed from the flat sheet will be capable of resting on an uppermost rim of a larger diameter cup while concurrently supporting an uppermost lipped rim of a smaller diameter cup holding a beverage for a modified drinking game, each of said round ring-like inserts having an inner circumference and an outer circumference, said flat sheet comprising:
 a polygonal shape of the material, and   two or more round ring-like inserts being at least partially pre-cut into the material so as to be easily removable from the material leaving: (a) a remainder of the material with the round ring-like inserts removed therefrom; and (b) a plurality of center circles of the material removed from the round ring-like inserts.   
     
     
         2 . The flat sheet of  claim 1  wherein the round ring-like inserts are each capable of being worn as a wristband. 
     
     
         3 . The flat sheet of  claim 1  wherein the polygonal shape of the material is a rectangle. 
     
     
         4 . The flat sheet of  claim 1  wherein the material is a cardstock or cardboard at least about 0.01 in (0.25 mm) thick. 
     
     
         5 . The flat sheet of  claim 1  wherein the material is a polymer sheet at least about 0.01 in (0.25 mm) thick. 
     
     
         6 . The flat sheet of  claim 1  wherein the inner circumference and an outer circumference of the round ring-like inserts are made by pre-scoring from at least one side of the material. 
     
     
         7 . The flat sheet of  claim 1  wherein the inner circumference and an outer circumference of the round ring-like inserts are defined by a plurality of perforations into the material from a top side of the material, an underside of the material or both. 
     
     
         8 . The flat sheet of  claim 1  wherein at least one of: the round ring-like inserts, the remainder of the material with the round ring-like inserts removed therefrom; and the plurality of center circles to be removed from the round ring-like inserts are pre-printed with one or more promotional messages selected from the group consisting of: (a) a sports team logo; (b) a college name and colors; (c) a fraternity tie-in; (d) a media promotion, including radio advertising; (e) a redeemable product or service coupon; and (f) a public service announcement. 
     
     
         9 . The flat sheet of  claim 1  wherein the inner circumference measures about 2.75 to 3.25 in., the outer circumference measures about 3.75 to 4.5 in, and the ring-like insert between the inner circumference and the outer circumference measures about 0.5 in. wide. 
     
     
         10 . A flat, round ring-like cup adapter capable of resting on an uppermost rim of a larger diameter cup while concurrently supporting an uppermost lipped rim of a smaller diameter cup holding a beverage for a modified drinking game, said cup adapter having an inner circumference and an outer circumference and being made by separating from a thin sheet of material having one or more messages pre-printed with at least one of: (a) a sports team logo; (b) a college name and colors; (c) a fraternity tie-in; (d) a media promotion, including radio advertising; (e) a redeemable product or service coupon; and (f) a public service announcement. 
     
     
         11 . The ring-like cup adapter of  claim 10  wherein the thin sheet of material has one or more messages on an area of the thin sheet outside the ring-like cup adapter. 
     
     
         12 . The ring-like cup adapter of  claim 10  wherein the thin sheet of material has one or more messages on an area of the thin sheet inside the ring-like cup adapter. 
     
     
         13 . The ring-like cup adapter of  claim 10  wherein the thin sheet of material has one or more messages on either a top side or an underside of the ring-like cup adapter. 
     
     
         14 . The ring-like cup adapter of  claim 10  wherein the inner circumference and the outer circumference are made by pre-scoring into the thin sheet of material. 
     
     
         15 . The ring-like cup adapter of  claim 10  wherein the inner circumference and the outer circumference are made by perforating into the thin sheet of material. 
     
     
         16 . The ring-like cup adapter of  claim 9  wherein the thin sheet of material is between about 0.03-0.15 in. thick, the inner circumference measures about 2.75 to 3.25 in., the outer circumference measures about 3.75 to 4.5 in, and the cup adapter between the inner circumference and the outer circumference measures about 0.5 in. wide. 
     
     
         17 . A method of making a plurality of ring-like round promotional cup adapters for use in a modified drinking game in which one of such cup adapters: (i) rests on an uppermost rim of a larger diameter cup while concurrently supporting an uppermost lipped rim of a smaller diameter cup holding a beverage during the drinking game; and (ii) is removed from between the larger diameter cup and the smaller diameter cup during play of the drinking game and then capable of being worn on a player's wrist as a drink counter, said method comprising:
 a. providing a flat sheet of material sized for making at least two of the ring-like, round promotional cup adapters therefrom, said round promotional cup adapters having an outer circumference ranging from about 3.74 to 4.5 in.;   b. printing on a top side or an underside of the flat sheet of material one or more promotional messages selected from the group consisting of: (a) a sports team logo; (b) a college name and colors; (c) a fraternity tie-in; (d) a media promotion, including radio advertising; (e) a redeemable product or service coupon; and (f) a public service announcement; and   c. providing means for pre-cutting into the flat sheet of material the outer circumference and an inner circumference for the at least two round promotional cup adapters.   
     
     
         18 . The method of  claim 17  wherein the pre-cutting means includes scoring into a top side, an underside or both sides of the flat sheet of material the outer circumferences and the inner circumferences for the at least two round promotional cup adapters. 
     
     
         19 . The method of  claim 17  wherein the pre-cutting means includes perforating into the flat sheet of material the outer circumferences and the inner circumferences for the at least two round promotional cup adapters. 
     
     
         20 . The method of  claim 17  wherein one or more promotional messages are printed on at least one of: (a) a remainder of the flat sheet of material with the round promotional cup adapters removed therefrom; (b) one or more center circles to be removed from the round promotional cup adapters; and (c) a top surface or an underside of each round promotional cup adapter removed from the flat sheet of material.
