Abstract

A system for assisting a subject to select a proper form of treatment. The system comprises: a monitoring section that remotely monitors a health status of the subject; an inference section that infers medical information about the subject based on information subject posted on social networks; a subject database that stores subject's information; and a symptom engine that stores symptoms of medical situations. The inference section applies the health status and the medical information against symptoms stored in the symptom engine to determine a proper form of treatment.

Claims

1 - 31 . (canceled)

32 . A method for patient data verification, the method comprising:
receiving patient data obtained from a patient; obtaining social network data for the patient from one or more social networks, wherein the social network data comprises social behavior information determined based on the patient's activity on the one or more social networks; confirming the patient data via the social network data for the patient, wherein the confirming comprises comparing the patient data against the social behavior information to determine the accuracy of the patient data; and storing the confirmed patient data including results of the comparison of the patient data against the social behavior information.

33 . The method of claim 32 , further comprising:
requesting additional patient information in response to confirming the patient data.

34 . The method of claim 32 , further comprising:
inferring the patient's mental state of being based on the social behavior information; and wherein the patient data is further confirmed via the inferred mental state of being.

35 . The method of claim 32 , further comprising:
receiving patient telemetry data; and wherein the patient data is further confirmed via the telemetry data.

36 . The method of claim 32 , wherein the confirming further comprises identifying the patient has reduced the severity of a symptom in the patient data.

37 . The method of claim 32 , wherein the confirming further comprises identifying the patient has exacerbated the severity of a symptom in the patient data.

38 . The method of claim 32 , further comprising:
providing a treatment recommendation based on the confirmed patient data and the social network data.

39 . A non-transitory storage medium storing a program that, when executed, causes a processor to execute a method for verifying patient response to a treatment recommendation, the method comprising:
accessing a patient record comprising the treatment recommendation for a patient; obtaining social network data for the patient from one or more social networks, wherein the social network data comprises social behavior information determined based on the patient's activity on the one or more social networks; analyzing the patient's compliance with the treatment recommendation via the social network data for the patient by comparing the social behavior information to the treatment recommendation to determine the patient's compliance with the treatment recommendation; and storing results of the analysis in the patient record.

40 . A non-transitory storage medium of claim 39 , wherein the analyzing comprises determining that the patient has ignored the treatment recommendation based on the social behavior information.

         41 . A non-transitory storage medium of claim 40 , the method further comprising:
notifying a caregiver that the patient has ignored the treatment recommendation.

         42 . A non-transitory storage medium of claim 40 , the method further comprising:
providing an alert to the patient based on the determination that the patient has ignored the treatment recommendation.

         43 . A non-transitory storage medium of claim 39 , the method further comprising:
inferring the patient's mental state of being based on the social behavior information; and wherein the patient's compliance is further analyzed via the inferred mental state of being.

         44 . A non-transitory storage medium of claim 39 , the method further comprising:
updating the treatment recommendation based on the analyzed patient's compliance with the treatment recommendation.

45 . A system for assisting a patient to select a proper form of treatment, comprising:
an electronic processor including an inference section that infers the patient's mental state of being based on social behavior information about the patient from at least one social network, wherein the inference section processes the patient's mental state of being to compile mental state data; a storage device that stores patient information obtained from the patient; and a symptom engine that stores symptom data, wherein the symptom engine compares the mental state data against the patient information to determine the accuracy of the patient information; wherein the system recommends a treatment based on results from the symptom engine.

46 . The system of claim 45 , further comprising:
an interface for a monitoring section that monitors a symptomatic event of the patient; and wherein the symptom engine further compares the symptomatic event against the patient information to determine the accuracy of the patient information.

47 . The system of claim 45 , wherein the patient information further comprises medical history information of the patient, and inferring further comprises inferring the mental state of being of the patient based on the stored medical history information of the patient.

48 . The system of claim 45 , wherein the symptom engine identifies that the patient has reduced the severity of one or more symptoms in the patient information.

49 . The system of claim 45 , wherein the symptom engine identifies that the patient has exacerbated the severity of one or more symptoms in the patient information.

50 . The system of claim 45 , wherein the system notifies a caregiver of results of the comparison from the symptom engine.

51 . The system of claim 45 , wherein the system receives updated patient information from the patient based on the provided recommended treatment.
