Process and system for data transmission

Abstract

Methods and systems are provided for enhanced data transmissions. A central controller of a communications network may identify, based on a user profile corresponding to a particular user, a communications terminal associated with the user, and may determine accessibility of the communications terminal. The central controller may then encrypt based on a user defined time associated with the user, data with an electronic key associated with a type of data. The central controller may then transmit the encrypted data to the communications terminal. The central controller may then verify that the user is entitled to access the encrypted data, and based on successful verifying, may transmit at least a portion of the electronic key to the communications terminal.

         20 . A method, comprising:
 in a central controller of a communications network:
 determining based on a user profile corresponding to a particular user, a communications terminal associated with the user; 
 determining accessibility of the communications terminal; 
 encrypting based on a user defined time associated with the user, data with an electronic key associated with a type of data; 
 transmitting the encrypted data to the communications terminal; 
 verifying that the user is entitled to access the encrypted data; and 
 based on the verifying, transmitting at least a portion of the electronic key to the communications terminal. 
   
     
     
         21 . The method of  claim 20 , comprising verifying that the user is entitled to access the encrypted data based on authentication data associated with the user. 
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 21 , comprising receiving at least a portion of the authentication data from the communications terminal; and 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 20 , comprising transmitting the encrypted data asynchronously to communications terminal. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 20 , comprising debiting a user account based on the transfer of the at least part of the electronic key. 
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 20 , comprising storing the user profile in the central controller. 
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 20 , comprising configuring or adjusting the data before encryption based on the communications terminal. 
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the user profile comprises data relating to the communications terminal. 
     
     
         28 . The method of  claim 27 , wherein the data relating to the communications terminal comprises data relating to a screen resolution of the communications terminal. 
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the encrypted data comprises video data and audio data; and further comprising encrypting the video data and the audio data using different electronic keys. 
     
     
         30 . A system, comprising:
 one or more circuits configured for use in a central controller of a communications network, wherein the one or more circuits are operable to:
 determine based on a user profile corresponding to a particular user, a communications terminal associated with the user; 
 determine accessibility of the communications terminal; 
 encrypt based on a user defined time associated with the user, data with an electronic key associated with a type of data; 
 transmit the encrypted data to the communications terminal; 
 verify that the user is entitled to access the encrypted data; and 
 based on the verifying, transmit at least a portion of the electronic key to the communications terminal. 
   
     
     
         31 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to verify that the user is entitled to access the encrypted data based on authentication data associated with the user. 
     
     
         32 . The system of  claim 31 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to receive at least a portion of the authentication data from the communications terminal; and 
     
     
         33 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to transmit the encrypted data asynchronously to communications terminal. 
     
     
         34 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to debiting a user account based on the transfer of the at least part of the electronic key. 
     
     
         35 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to store the user profile in the central controller. 
     
     
         36 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein the one or more circuits are operable to configure or adjust the data before encryption based on the communications terminal. 
     
     
         37 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein:
 the user profile comprises data relating to the communications terminal; and   the one or more circuits are operable to configure or adjust the data before encryption based on the data relating to the communications terminal.   
     
     
         38 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein when the data comprises video data, the one or more circuits are operable to configure or adjust the data before encryption based on the video related characteristics or parameters associated with the communications terminal, the video related characteristics or parameters comprising a screen resolution of the communications terminal. 
     
     
         39 . The system of  claim 30 , wherein:
 the data comprises video data and audio data; and   the one or more circuits are operable to encrypt the video data and the audio data using different electronic keys.
