Abstract

A safety eye installation tool for installing safety eyes in fabric includes a first handle that is pivotally coupled to a second handle. A first bar and a second bar are coupled to and extend from a first end of the first handle and a first terminus of the second handle, respectively. A channel is positioned in the second bar distal from the second handle. The channel is configured to insert a rod of a safety eye that is positioned through a fabric and a washer. An eye of the safety eye is configured to abut the first bar. The first handle and the second handle are configured to be grasped in a hand of a user to pivot the first bar is toward the second bar. The washer is motivated along the rod toward the eye to couple washer to the rod and the eye to the fabric.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
I claim:

1 . A safety eye installation tool comprising:
a first handle pivotally coupled to a second handle, said first handle and said second handle being rigid; a first bar coupled to and extending from a first end of said first handle; a second bar coupled to and extending from a first terminus of said second handle; a channel positioned in said second bar distal from said second handle, said channel being complementary to a rod of a safety eye; and wherein said channel is positioned in said second bar such that said channel is configured for inserting the rod of the safety eye that is positioned through a fabric and a washer and wherein an eye of the safety eye is configured for abutting an endpoint of said first bar such that said first handle and said second handle are configured for grasping in a hand of a user for pivoting for compelling said first bar toward said second bar such that the washer is motivated along the rod toward the eye for coupling washer to the rod and the eye to the fabric.

2 . The tool of claim 1 , further including said first handle and said second handle being arcuate.

3 . The tool of claim 1 , further including said first bar and said second bar being arcuate.

4 . The tool of claim 1 , further including a sleeve complementary to and positioned over said first bar, said sleeve being resilient, wherein said sleeve is positioned on said first bar such that said sleeve is configured for abutting the eye of the safety eye for preventing damage of the eye during installation.

5 . The tool of claim 4 , further including said sleeve being coupled to said second bar.

6 . The tool of claim 4 , further including said sleeve comprising shrink wrap.

7 . The tool of claim 1 , further comprising:
a first hole, said first hole being positioned through said first handle proximate to first end; a second hole, said second hole being positioned through said second handle proximate to said first terminus, said second hole being complementary to said first hole; and a pin complementary and positioned through said first hole and said second hole such that said first handle and said second handle are pivotally coupled.

8 . The tool of claim 1 , further including a pair of grips, said grips being coupled singly to said first handle and said second handle, wherein said grips are positioned on said first handle and said second handle such that said grips are configured for preventing slippage of the hand of the user when pivoting said first handle and said second handle.

9 . The tool of claim 1 , further including a plurality of serrations positioned in inside faces of said first bar and said second bar, said serrations being triangularly shaped when viewed longitudinally.

10 . A safety eye installation tool comprising:
a first handle pivotally coupled to a second handle, said first handle and said second handle being rigid, said first handle and said second handle being arcuate; a first bar coupled to and extending from a first end of said first handle, said first bar being arcuate; a second bar coupled to and extending from a first terminus of said second handle, said second bar being arcuate; a channel positioned in said second bar distal from said second handle, said channel being complementary to a rod of a safety eye, wherein said channel is positioned in said second bar such that said channel is configured for inserting the rod of the safety eye that is positioned through a fabric and a washer and wherein an eye of the safety eye is configured for abutting an endpoint of said first bar such that said first handle and said second handle are configured for grasping in a hand of a user for pivoting for compelling said first bar toward said second bar such that the washer is motivated along the rod toward the eye for coupling washer to the rod and the eye to the fabric; a sleeve complementary to and positioned over said first bar, said sleeve being resilient, wherein said sleeve is positioned on said first bar such that said sleeve is configured for abutting the eye of the safety eye for preventing damage of the eye during installation, said sleeve being coupled to said second bar, said sleeve comprising shrink wrap; a first hole, said first hole being positioned through said first handle proximate to first end; a second hole, said second hole being positioned through said second handle proximate to said first terminus, said second hole being complementary to said first hole; a pin complementary and positioned through said first hole and said second hole such that said first handle and said second handle are pivotally coupled; a pair of grips, said grips being coupled singly to said first handle and said second handle, wherein said grips are positioned on said first handle and said second handle such that said grips are configured for preventing slippage of the hand of the user when pivoting said first handle and said second handle; a plurality of serrations positioned in inside faces of said first bar and said second bar, said serrations being triangularly shaped when viewed longitudinally; and wherein said channel is positioned in said second bar such that said channel is configured for inserting the rod of the safety eye that is positioned through the fabric and the washer and wherein said sleeve is positioned on said first bar such that said sleeve is configured for abutting the eye of the safety eye for preventing damage of the eye during the installation, wherein said first handle and said second handle are configured for grasping in the hand of the user for pivoting for compelling said first bar toward said second bar such that the washer is motivated along the rod toward the eye for coupling washer to the rod and the eye to the fabric, wherein said grips are positioned on said first handle and said second handle such that said grips are configured for preventing slippage of the hand of the user when pivoting said first handle and said second handle.
