Abstract

Techniques for generated scannable coded images or user actionable-link with corresponding personalized content are described. In an example embodiment, the personalized content may only be accessed via the scannable coded image by authenticated user devices, wherein the permissions associated with the authentication are determined at the time the personalized content is generated. Responsive to a user device attempting to access the contents of a scannable coded image, the user device is first identified and authenticated. Only after the device is authenticated can the content corresponding to the scannable coded image be accessed by the user device or delivered to the user device.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A method comprising:
 detecting a transaction performed in association with an item; encoding, in response to the transaction, a scannable coded image with authentication data associated with a user and personalized content specific to the user, the personalized content including data associated with the item; receiving a request to access the personalized content, the request being initiated in direct response to the scannable coded image being scanned using a requesting device associated with the user; authenticating the request to access the personalized content, the request including criteria associated with the user and data associated with the requesting device; retrieving, upon authentication of the request, the personalized content encoded in the scannable coded image; and communicating the personalized content to the requesting device for display.

         2 . The method as described in claim 1 , wherein the scannable coded image is further encoded with additional criteria associated with at least one additional user and additional personal content specific to the at least one additional user.

         3 . The method as described in claim 2 , wherein the criteria associated with the user is based on current location data specific to the user, and the additional criteria associated with the at least one additional user is based on additional current location data specific to the additional user.

         4 . The method as described in claim 1 , wherein authenticating the request to access the personalized content comprises comparing the criteria associated with the user and the data associated with the requesting device with a location identifier and a device identifier.

         5 . The method as described in claim 4 , wherein the location identifier and the device identifier are included in a user profile associated with the user.

         6 . The method as described in claim 1 , wherein the personalized content is not displayed on the requesting device if the request not authenticated.

         7 . The method as described in claim 1 , wherein authenticating the request further comprises:
 transmitting a login request to the requesting device associated with the user, the login request including at least one of a username and password prompt, or a finger-print prompt.

         8 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium with instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of a computing device, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
 detecting a transaction performed in association with an item; encoding, in response to the transaction, a scannable coded image with authentication data associated with a user and personalized content specific to the user, the personalized content including data associated with the item; receiving a request to access the personalized content, the request being initiated in direct response to the scannable coded image being scanned at a requesting device associated with the user; authenticating the request to access the personalized content, the request including criteria associated with the user and data associated with requesting device; retrieving, upon authentication of the request, the personalized content encoded in the scannable coded image; and communicating the personalized content to the requesting device for display.

         9 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium as described in claim 8 , further including instructions that, when executed by one or more processors of the computing device, cause the computing device to perform further operations comprising:
 encoding the scannable coded image with additional criteria associated with at least one additional user and additional personal content specific to the at least one additional user.

         10 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium as described in claim 9 , wherein the criteria associated with the user is based on current location data specific to the user, and the additional criteria associated with the at least one additional user is based on additional current location data specific to the at least one additional user.

         11 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium as described in claim 8 , wherein authenticating the request to access the personalized content comprises comparing the criteria associated with the user and the data associated with the requesting device with a location identifier and a device identifier.

         12 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium as described in claim 8 , wherein the location identifier and the device identifier are included in a user profile associated with the user.

         13 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium as described in claim 8 , wherein the personalized content is not displayed on the requesting device if the request not authenticated.

         14 . A client device comprising:
 a display; one or more processors; one or more computer readable storage media storing instructions that, responsive to execution by one or more processors, implement one or more modules to perform operations comprising:
 transmitting a request to access personalized content specific to a user, the request being transmitted in direct response to scanning a scannable coded image;
 receiving, in response to an authentication of the request, access to the personalized content specific to the user;
 outputting, on the display, the personalized content.

         15 . The client device as described in claim 14 , wherein the request to access personalized content includes criteria associated with the user and data associated with the client device.

         16 . The client device as described in claim 15 , wherein the criteria associated with the user is based on current location data specific to the user.

         17 . The client device as described in claim 15 , wherein the authentication of the request is based on comparing the criteria associated with the user and the data associated with the client device with a location identifier and a device identifier.

         18 . The client device as described in claim 14 , wherein the scannable coded image is encoded with the personalized content specific to the user and additional personalized content specific to at least one additional user.

         19 . The client device as described in claim 14 , wherein the personalized content is not displayed on the display if the request is not authenticated.

         20 . The client device as described in claim 14 , wherein the authentication of the request further comprises:
 receiving a login request associated with the user, the login request including at least one of a username and password prompt or a finger-print prompt.
