Abstract

An electronic device having a communication capability is provided. The electronic device includes a housing having a generally rectangular shape in a plan view of the housing, and a non-contact charging module included in the housing. The non-contact charging module includes (i) a wireless charging coil having a substantially planar shape and formed of a wound electrical wire, and (ii) a magnetic sheet that overlaps with the wireless charging coil in the plan view of the housing. The electronic device further includes a Near Field Communication (NFC) antenna included in the housing and including an NFC coil formed of a wound electrical wire, and a guide having a generally rectangular outer shape in the plan view of the housing. The guide has a hole and the wireless charging coil is arranged in the hole of the guide.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An electronic device having a communication capability, the electronic device comprising:
a housing having a generally rectangular shape in a plan view of the housing; a non-contact charging module included in the housing and including:
 (i) a wireless charging coil having a substantially planar shape and formed of a wound electrical wire, and
 (ii) a sheet that overlaps with the wireless charging coil in the plan view of the housing;
a Near Field Communication (NFC) antenna included in the housing and including an NFC coil formed of a wound electrical wire; and a guide having a generally rectangular outer shape in the plan view of the housing, the guide having a first thickness along a thickness direction that is perpendicular to the substantially planar shape of the wireless charging coil; wherein the guide has a hole having a second thickness less than the first thickness along the thickness direction and being defined by an inner periphery of the guide, in which the wireless charging coil is received.

2 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the hole is shaped to generally follow an outer shape of the wireless charging coil.

3 . The electronic device of claim 2 , wherein the outer shape of the wireless charging coil has a generally circular shape, and the hole is shaped to follow the generally circular shape of the wireless charging coil.

4 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the hole has a generally circular shape.

5 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the NFC antenna is arranged adjacent to and outside of the wireless charging coil.

6 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the wireless charging coil has a first resonant frequency and the NFC coil has a second resonant frequency different from the first resonant frequency.

7 . The electronic device of claim 6 , wherein the first resonant frequency of the wireless charging coil is lower than the second resonant frequency of the NFC coil.

8 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein a number of windings included in the wireless charging coil is greater than a number of windings included in the NFC coil.

9 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein a power transfer frequency of the wireless charging coil is different from a communication frequency of the NFC coil.

10 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the NFC coil is formed of the wound electrical wire and including a substrate.

11 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the NFC coil is disposed outside of the sheet.

12 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein at least a portion of the NFC coil is disposed on a second sheet different from the sheet of the non-contact charging module.

13 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein the NFC coil is configured to perform communication by electromagnetic induction.

14 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein an outer shape of the wireless charging coil is different from an outer shape of the NFC coil.

15 . The electronic device of claim 1 , wherein terminal ends of the wireless charging coil and terminal ends of the NFC coil extend in the same direction.
