Information display method and apparatus of mobile terminal

Abstract

A method and apparatus for displaying a list of information items selected depending on whether each information item contains certain information is provided. An information display method of the present invention includes displaying a list having at least one information item; classifying, when a user command is input, the at least one information item into shown-information item and hidden-information item according to a display rule; and modifying the list to show only the shown-information items.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A portable communication device comprising:
 a touchscreen display;   a processor adapted to:   display, via the touchscreen display, a plurality of information item groups including a first information item group and a second information item group concurrently, the first information item group including one or more first information items associated with a first information item group indication indicative of the first information item group and the second information item group including one or more second information items associated with a second information item group indication indicative of the second information item group, the displaying to be performed such that the one or more first information items are listed between the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication, and that the one or more second information items are hidden from view;   receive, via the touchscreen display, a touch input with respect to the second information item group indication; and   in response to the touch input, hide from view the first information item group indication and the one or more first information items previously displayed between the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication while displaying the one or more second information items below the second information item group indication.   
     
     
         2 . The portable communication device of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the plurality of information item groups such that a corresponding representative information of the first information item group and the second information group is displayed as a corresponding information item group indication.   
     
     
         3 . The portable communication device of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 in response to the touch input, perform the hiding from view, by scrolling up the first information item group indication and the one or more first information items previously displayed between the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication.   
     
     
         4 . The portable communication device of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the first information item group such that the one or more first information items are displayed in an order sorted by an used time.   
     
     
         5 . The portable communication device of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 as at least part of the hiding from view, display the one or more second information items in an order sorted by an used time.   
     
     
         6 . The portable communication device of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the first information item group such that at least one information item of the one or more first information items is marked with a symbol indicating that the at least one first information item has a priority designated by a user of the portable communication device.   
     
     
         7 . The portable communication device of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the first information item group such that at least one information item of the one or more first information items is marked with a symbol indicating that a frequency corresponding to the at least one information item is higher than the frequency corresponding to another first information item unmarked with the symbol.   
     
     
         8 . The portable communication device of  claim 1 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 receive, via the touchscreen display, a second touch input with respect to the second information item group indication; and   in response to the second touch input, hide from view the one or more second information items previously displayed below the second information item group indication while displaying the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication.   
     
     
         9 . A portable communication device comprising:
 a touchscreen display;   a processor adapted to:   display, via the display, a plurality of information item groups including a first information item group and a second information item group concurrently, the first information item group including one or more first information items associated with a first information item group indication indicative of the first information item group and the second information item group including one or more second information items associated with a second information item group indication indicative of the second information item group, the displaying to be performed such that the one or more first information items are listed between the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication, and that the one or more second information items are hidden from view;   receive, an input with respect to the second information item group indication; and   in response to the input, hide from view the one or more first information items previously displayed between the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication while displaying the one or more second information items concurrently with the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication.   
     
     
         10 . The portable communication device of  claim 9 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the plurality of information item groups such that a corresponding representative information of the first information item group and the second information group is displayed as a corresponding information item group indication.   
     
     
         11 . The portable communication device of  claim 9 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 in response to the input, perform the hiding from view, by scrolling up the one or more first information items previously displayed between the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication.   
     
     
         12 . The portable communication device of  claim 9 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the first information item group such that the one or more first information items are displayed in an order sorted by an used time.   
     
     
         13 . The portable communication device of  claim 9 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 as at least part of the hiding from view, display the one or more second information items in an order sorted by an used time.   
     
     
         14 . The portable communication device of  claim 9 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the first information item group such that at least one information item of the one or more first information items is marked with a symbol indicating that the at least one first information item has a priority designated by a user of the portable communication device.   
     
     
         15 . The portable communication device of  claim 9 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the first information item group such that at least one information item of the one or more first information items is marked with a symbol indicating that a frequency corresponding to the at least one information item is higher than the frequency corresponding to another first information item unmarked with the symbol.   
     
     
         16 . The portable communication device of  claim 9 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 receive, a second input with respect to the second information item group indication; and   in response to the second input, hide from view the one or more second information items previously displayed concurrently with the second information item group indication while displaying the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication.   
     
     
         17 . A portable communication device comprising:
 a touchscreen display;   a processor adapted to:
 display, via the touchscreen display, a plurality of information item groups including a first information item group and a second information item group concurrently, the first information item group including one or more first information items associated with a first information item group indication indicative of the first information item group and the second information item group including one or more second information items associated with a second information item group indication indicative of the second information item group, the displaying to be performed such that the one or more first information items are listed between the first information item group indication and the second information item group indication, and that the one or more second information items are hidden from view; 
 receive, via the touchscreen display, a first touch input with respect to the second information item group indication; and 
 in response to the first touch input, display the one or more second information items concurrently with the second information item group indication such that the one or more second information items is displayed below the second information item group, and that the first information item group indication and the one or more first information items are hidden from view; 
 receive, via the touchscreen display, a second touch input with respect to the second information item group indication; and 
 in response to the second touch input, display the first information group indication previously hidden and the second information item group indication, such that the second information items previously displayed below the second information item group are hidden from view. 
   
     
     
         18 . The portable communication device of  claim 17 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the plurality of information item groups such that a corresponding representative information of the first information item group and the second information group is displayed as a corresponding information item group indication.   
     
     
         19 . The portable communication device of  claim 17 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 as at least part of the displaying of the one or more second information items, scroll up the first information item group indication and the one or more first information items.   
     
     
         20 . The portable communication device of  claim 17 , wherein the processor is adapted to:
 perform the displaying of the first information item group such that at least one information item of the one or more first information items is marked with a symbol indicating that the at least one first information item has a priority designated by a user of the portable communication device.
