Communication Systems

Abstract

First content may be received from a content device and via radio frequency communication. The first content may be output. Second content may be receive via broadband data communication. The second content may be output based on a determination to interrupt the first content. The second content may be output independent of a request for the second content.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method comprising:
 receiving, from a content device and via radio frequency communication, first content;   causing output of the first content;   receiving, via broadband data communication, second content; and   causing output, based on a determination to interrupt the first content, of the second content, wherein the causing output of the second content is independent of a request for the second content.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determination to interrupt the first content comprises a determination to initiate a telehealth session; and
 wherein the causing output of the second content comprises initiating the telehealth session.   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determination to interrupt the first content comprises a determination to cause the second content to overlay the first content; and
 wherein the causing output of the second content comprises causing the second content to overlay the first content.   
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determination to interrupt the first content comprises a determination to output the second content instead of the first content; and
 wherein the causing output of the second content comprises outputting the second content instead of the first content.   
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the receiving the second content comprises receiving the second content from a health services provider. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the second content comprises health-related content. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the health-related content is associated with a patient. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the health-related content is associated with a specific user. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the health-related content comprises an indication of at least one of a health alert, vital sign information, sensor data, or an emergency condition. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the content device comprises at least one of a service provider device, a content provider device, a content providing device, or a content generating device. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first content comprises at least one of video content, audio content, image content, or text content. 
     
     
         12 . A system comprising:
 a first content device configured to send, via radio frequency communication, first content;   a second content device configured to send, via broadband data communication, second content; and   a computing device configured to:
 receive, from the first content device and via radio frequency communication, the first content; 
 cause output of the first content; 
 receive, from the second content device and via broadband data communication, the second content; and 
 cause output, based on a determination to interrupt the first content, of the second content, wherein the causing output of the second content is independent of a request for the second content. 
   
     
     
         13 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the determination to interrupt the first content comprises a determination to initiate a telehealth session; and
 wherein the computing device is configured to cause output of the second content by initiating the telehealth session with the second content device.   
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the second content comprises an indication of at least one of a health alert, vital sign information, sensor data, or an emergency condition. 
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the determination to interrupt the first content comprises a determination to cause the second content to overlay the first content; and
 wherein the computing device is configured to cause output of the second content by causing the second content to overlay the first content.   
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the second communication device is associated with a health service provider. 
     
     
         17 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the first content comprises at least one of video content, audio content, image content, or text content. 
     
     
         18 . The system of  claim 12 , wherein the first content device comprises at least one of a service provider device, a content provider device, a content providing device, or a content generating device. 
     
     
         19 . A device comprising:
 one or more processors; and   memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the device to:
 receive, from a content device and via radio frequency communication, first content; 
 cause output of the first content; 
 receive, via broadband data communication, second content; and 
 cause output, based on a determination to interrupt the first content, of the second content, wherein the causing output of the second content is independent of a request for the second content. 
   
     
     
         20 . The device of  claim 19 , wherein the device is configured to receive the second content from a health services provider; and
 wherein the second content is associated with a patient of the health services provider.   
     
     
         21 . The device of  claim 19 , wherein the device is configured to output the second content by initiating a bi-directional communication session. 
     
     
         22 . The device of  claim 19 , wherein the content device comprises at least one of a service provider device, a content provider device, a camera device, or a digital media provider device. 
     
     
         23 . The device of  claim 19 , wherein the determination to interrupt the first content comprises a determination to output the second content instead of the first content; and
 wherein the device is configured to cause output of the second content by outputting the second content instead of the first content.   
     
     
         24 . The device of  claim 19 , wherein the first content comprises at least one of a television program, an educational program, or an interactive program. 
     
     
         25 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that, when executed, cause:
 receiving, from a content device and via radio frequency communication, first content;   causing output of the first content;   receiving, via broadband data communication, second content; and   causing output, based on a determination to interrupt the first content, of the second content, wherein the causing output of the second content is independent of a request for the second content.   
     
     
         26 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 25 , wherein the determination to interrupt the first content comprises a determination to initiate a communication session; and
 wherein the causing output of the second content comprises initiating the communication session.   
     
     
         27 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 25 , wherein the content device comprises at least one of a content provider device, a service provider device, or a content creator device. 
     
     
         28 . The non-transitory computer-readable medium of  claim 25 , wherein the second content comprises a request for input associated with the first content.
