Abstract

Disclosed is a method of cross-social network communication. The method may include determining a plurality of recipients of a social networking service interaction, determining a plurality of target social networking services based upon the plurality of recipients of the social networking service interaction, and a plurality of authentication information associated with the plurality of social networking services. The method may include constructing an application programming interface call for each of the plurality of target social networking services, the application programming interface call associated with the social networking service interaction, the application programming interface call specifying one or more of the plurality of recipients that is to receive the interaction, the one or more of the plurality of recipients being members of the particular target social networking service.

         21 . A computer implemented method of communication comprising:
 using one or more computer processors to perform operations of:
 receiving, over a network, an indication to send a first message; 
 determining a first target social networking service, a first recipient of the first message being a member of the first target social networking service; 
 determining a second target social networking service, a second recipient of the first message being a member of the second target social networking service; 
 accessing first authentication information that was received over the network from a first social networking application corresponding to the first target social networking service and that indicates that the first social networking application has authenticated with the first target social networking service; 
 accessing second authentication information that was received over the network from a second social networking application corresponding to the second target social networking service and that indicates that the second social networking application has authenticated with the second target social networking service; 
 sending the first message to the first recipient via the first target social networking service using the first authentication information; and 
 sending the first message to the second recipient via the second target social networking service using the second authentication information. 
   
     
     
         22 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the first social networking application is hosted on a server that is not a server providing the first target social networking service. 
     
     
         23 . The method of  claim 22 , wherein the second social networking application is hosted on a server that is not a server providing the second target social networking service. 
     
     
         24 . The method of  claim 21 , comprising:
 receiving a request for the first social networking application from a computing device associated with the first recipient; and   transmitting the first social networking application to the computing device associated with the first recipient.   
     
     
         25 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the accessing the first authentication information comprises accessing the first authentication information from a database. 
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 21 , wherein the first message is received from a third social networking application corresponding to a third social networking service. 
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein a sender of the first message is connected to the first recipient on the first target social networking service and the second recipient on the second target social networking service, but not connected to either the first and second recipients on the third social networking service. 
     
     
         28 . A computing device comprising:
 a processor;   a memory, the memory storing instructions, which when executed by the processor, cause the computing device to perform operations comprising:
 receiving, over a network, an indication to send a first message; 
 determining a first target social networking service, a first recipient of the first message being a member of the first target social networking service; 
 determining a second target social networking service, a second recipient of the first message being a member of the second target social networking service; 
 accessing first authentication information that was received over the network from a first social networking application corresponding to the first target social networking service and that indicates that the first social networking application has authenticated with the first target social networking service; 
 accessing second authentication information that was received over the network from a second social networking application corresponding to the second target social networking service and that indicates that the second social networking application has authenticated with the second target social networking service; 
 sending the first message to the first recipient via the first target social networking service using the first authentication information; and 
 sending the first message to the second recipient via the second target social networking service using the second authentication information. 
   
     
     
         29 . The computing device of  claim 28 , wherein the first social networking application is hosted on a server that is not a server providing the first target social networking service. 
     
     
         30 . The computing device of  claim 29 , wherein the second social networking application is hosted on a server that is not a server providing the second target social networking service. 
     
     
         31 . The computing device of  claim 28 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 receiving a request for the first social networking application from a computing device associated with the first recipient; and   transmitting the first social networking application to the computing device associated with the first recipient.   
     
     
         32 . The computing device of  claim 28 , wherein the operations of accessing the first authentication information comprises accessing the first authentication information from a database. 
     
     
         33 . The computing device of  claim 28 , wherein the first message is received from a third social networking application corresponding to a third social networking service.

The computing device of  claim 33 , wherein a sender of the first message is connected to the first recipient on the first target social networking service and the second recipient on the second target social networking service, but not connected to either the first and second recipients on the third social networking service. 
     
     
         35 . A machine-readable medium, storing instructions, which when executed by a machine, cause the machine to perform operations comprising:
 receiving, over a network, an indication to send a first message;
 determining a first target social networking service, a first recipient of the first message being a member of the first target social networking service; 
 determining a second target social networking service, a second recipient of the first message being a member of the second target social networking service; 
 accessing first authentication information that was received over the network from a first social networking application corresponding to the first target social networking service and that indicates that the first social networking application has authenticated with the first target social networking service; 
 accessing second authentication information that was received over the network from a second social networking application corresponding to the second target social networking service and that indicates that the second social networking application has authenticated with the second target social networking service; 
 sending the first message to the first recipient via the first target social networking service using the first authentication information; and 
 sending the first message to the second recipient via the second target social networking service using the second authentication information. 
   
     
     
         36 . The machine-readable medium of  claim 35 , wherein the first social networking application is hosted on a server that is not a server providing the first target social networking service. 
     
     
         37 . The machine-readable medium of  claim 36 , wherein the second social networking application is hosted on a server that is not a server providing the second target social networking service. 
     
     
         38 . The machine-readable medium of  claim 35 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 receiving a request for the first social networking application from a computing device associated with the first recipient; and   transmitting the first social networking application to the computing device associated with the first recipient.   
     
     
         39 . The machine-readable medium of  claim 35 , wherein the operations of accessing the first authentication information comprises accessing the first authentication information from a database. 
     
     
         40 . The machine-readable medium of  claim 35 , wherein the first message is received from a third social networking application corresponding to a third social networking service.
