Comprehensive Management of Human Health
Abstract
A health guidance system receives health information from input devices and other sources, tracks one or more health goals, and enforces those goals by acting upon other devices. The health guidance system collects health information to paint a comprehensive picture of the user's health. The system uses the information it collects to interact with a variety of devices to enforce the user's health goals and ensure accountability. Thus, the health guidance system provides a comprehensive software system for collecting health information and using that information to produce positive changes in the health of users.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An electronic device for managing both a user's dietary intake and physical activity, the electronic device comprising:
one or more sensors configured to detect health-related activity of the user; at least one processor unit configured to execute instructions for analyzing sensory input received from the one or more sensors; and one or more extensions, the one or more extensions comprising at least an eating activity extension; wherein the health-related activity detected by the one or more sensors comprises eating activity and physical activity; wherein the electronic device operates in a first non-eating mode without an eating activity extension connected and transmitting eating activity data thereto, or a second eating mode wherein an eating activity extension is connected and transmitting eating activity data thereto; such that the electronic device is configured to detect physical activity in the first mode, and to detect eating activity in the second mode, the electronic device further configured to inform the user on the detected eating activity and detected physical activity.
2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the electronic device is further configured to compute energy intake based on the eating activity or energy expenditure based on the physical activity, or any combination thereof.

The device of claim 1 , wherein the electronic device is further configured to compute calories consumed based on the eating activity, calories burned based on the physical activity and a caloric balance based on the calories consumed and burned to provide feedback related to the caloric balance to the user.
4 . The device of claim 3 , wherein the electronic device further includes a memory for storing information; the device further configured to store one or more caloric balance goals and to compare the caloric balance with one or more of the caloric balance goals.
5 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the electronic device is further configured to detect characteristics of food or bites of food with at least one of the one or more sensors.
6 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the eating activity extension is shaped like a food carrier.
7 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the eating activity extension is further configured to be disconnectably connected electronically to at least part of the electronic device.
8 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the eating activity extension is shaped like a fork, spoon, or chopstick.
9 . The device of claim 1 , wherein in the second eating mode the eating activity extension is wirelessly connected and wirelessly transmitting eating activity data thereto.
10 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the health-related activity detected by the one or more sensors further comprises sleep activity; the electronic device further configured to detect sleep activity in the first mode.
11 . The device of claim 1 , wherein at least part of the electronic device is attached to or worn by the user.
12 . An electronic device for managing both a user's eating activity and physical activity, the device comprising:
one or more sensors configured to detect health-related activity of the user, the health-related activity detected by the one or more sensors comprising eating activity and physical activity; at least one processor unit configured to execute instructions for analyzing sensory input received from the one or more sensors; and one or more extensions configured to transmit health-related activity data to at least part of the electronic device; wherein the electronic device operates in a first non-eating mode without an eating activity extension connected thereto, or in a second eating mode wherein an eating activity extension is connected thereto; such that the electronic device is configured to detect physical activity in the first mode, and to detect eating activity in the second mode, the electronic device further configured to inform the user on the detected eating activity and detected physical activity.
13 . The device of claim 12 , wherein the eating activity extension is shaped like an eating utensil.
14 . The device of claim 12 , wherein the one or more sensors includes a sensor selected from the group consisting of a proximity sensor, an image sensor, a motion sensor, an optical sensor, a capacitive sensor, an infrared sensor or a touch sensor, or any combination thereof.
15 . The device of claim 12 , wherein at least part of the electronic device is shaped like a bracelet.
16 . The device of claim 12 , wherein the one or more extensions are configured to be each disconnectably connected electronically to at least part of the electronic device.
17 . The device of claim 12 , wherein in the second mode the electronic device wirelessly receives eating activity data from an eating activity extension wirelessly connected thereto.
18 . An electronic device for managing a user's health, the device comprising:
a first circuitry comprising a first rechargeable battery, the first rechargeable battery configured to supply power to the first circuitry; a second circuitry comprising a second rechargeable battery, the second rechargeable battery configured a) to supply power to the second circuitry and b) to be connectable to an external power supply; a casing configured to enclose the first circuitry; a casing extension bracelet configured to enclose the second circuitry, the casing extension bracelet configured to be removably attachable to the casing and to the user; one or more sensors configured to detect at least one health-related activity of the user, the first circuitry including at least one of the one or more sensors configured to detect activity of the user selected from the group consisting of one or more of eating activity, sleep activity and physical activity; and a processor unit in the first circuitry configured to execute instructions for analyzing sensory input received from the one or more sensors; wherein the first circuitry in the casing is further configured to detect activity selected from the group consisting of one or more of eating activity, sleep activity and physical activity with at least one of the one or more sensors in the first circuitry; wherein the electronic device is further configured to be removably attachable to the user with the casing extension bracelet to detect activity selected from the group consisting of one or more of eating activity, sleep activity and physical activity with at least one of the one or more sensors when the casing extension is attached to the user and the casing; wherein, when the casing extension bracelet is not attached to the casing and is connected to the external power supply, the second circuitry is configured to be electrically coupled to the external power supply to at least supply power to the second rechargeable battery; and wherein, when the casing extension bracelet is attached to the casing and is not connected to the external power supply, the second rechargeable battery is further configured to be electrically coupled to the first circuitry to at least supply power to the first rechargeable battery or other electrical components of the first circuitry.
19 . The device of claim 18 , wherein the detected activity, when the casing extension is attached to the user and the casing, is sleep activity.
