Abstract

A method, computer program product and computing device for receiving a request to load at least one new media content item on a personal media device. The size of the at least one new media content item is compared with the amount of storage space remaining on the personal media device to determine if the personal media device has sufficient available storage space. If the personal media device does not have sufficient available storage space, a relative weight associated with at least one old media content item stored on the personal media device is ascertained, the relative weight corresponding to a likelihood that the at least one old media content item will be rendered on the personal media device.

 the list comprises at least one playlist; the certain media content data comprises audio and/or video content; and the wireless transfer is to involve use of a direct wireless communication channel between the first client electronic device and the second client electronic device.

         25 . The server system of claim 22 , wherein:
 the certain media content data is to be downloaded to the first client electronic device; and the subscription status is associated, at least in part, with the first client electronic device.

         26 . The server system of claim 22 , wherein:
 the first client electronic device and the second client electronic device comprise respective different device architectures.

         27 . A method implemented, at least in part, using a server system, the server system being for communicating via an Internet network with a first client electronic device and a second client electronic device, the method comprising:
 processing, by the server system, a request to provide to the first client electronic device certain media content data for playing and/or storing, at least in part, at the first client electronic device, the certain media content data corresponding to at least one media content item selected via a user interface of the first client electronic device, the certain media content data to be provided, via the Internet network, based at least in part upon a subscription status and the request, to the first client electronic device; wherein:
 a list of media content item tracks comprises at least one media content item track that corresponds to the at least one media content item;
 the second client electronic device is to display, when the second client electronic device is in operation, a user selectable transfer command to request wireless transfer of the list of media content item tracks from the second client electronic device to the first client electronic device;
 the wireless transfer is to be initiated, at least in part, as a result of establishment, at least in part, of physical contact between the first client electronic device and the second client electronic device;
 the first client electronic device and the second client electronic device comprise respective architectures that are different, at least in part, from each other; and
 after the wireless transfer, and prior to being provided to the first client electronic device from the server system, the certain media content data is unavailable in storage of the first client electronic device.

         28 . The method of  claim 27 , wherein:
 the first client electronic device comprises a cellular telephone; the second client electronic device comprises another cellular telephone; and the second client electronic device is capable, when the second client electronic device is in the operation, of displaying a user selectable cancellation command to request cancellation of the wireless transfer.

         29 . The method of  claim 27 , wherein:
 the list comprises at least one playlist; the certain media content data comprises audio and/or video content; and the wireless transfer is to involve use of a direct wireless communication channel between the first client electronic device and the second client electronic device.

         30 . The method of  claim 27 , wherein:
