System and method for modifying web content
Abstract
Provided are a system and method for modifying textual web content of a web page by adding supplemental textual web content from another web page. In one example, the method includes analyzing a body of digital text content from a web page and determining at least one keyword included within the body of the digital text content, matching the at least one keyword with supplemental web content from another web page previously auto-detected by the web server, modifying the body of digital text content by embedding supplemental digital text content from the supplemental web content within the body of the digital text content, and transmitting the supplemental digital text content to a computing device providing the web page.

1 . A computing system, comprising:
a network interface configured to receive a body of text content from a tag that is embedded within and a host web page which displays the body of text content; and a processor configured to
identify a topic associated with the body of text content,
determine supplemental text content from a web page of a different website based on the identified topic, and
retrieve a string of additional words with empty data fields interspersed therein, and fill-in the empty data fields with auto-detected keywords from the supplemental text content to generate a filled-in string of words comprising a description based on a position where the filled-in string of words are to be embedded in the host web page,
wherein the network interface is further configured to transmit the filled-in string of words to the tag embedded within the host web page thereby integrating the filled-in string of words into the body of the text content.

The computing system of claim 1 , wherein the filled-in string of words comprises a paragraph, and the processor is configured to control the network interface to transmit the paragraph to the tag embedded within the host web page at a position after a last paragraph of text included in the body of the text content embedded within the host web page.

The computing system of claim 1 , wherein the filled-in string of words comprises a paragraph, and the processor is configured to control the network interface to transmit the paragraph to the tag embedded within the host web page between two paragraphs of text included in the body of the text content embedded within the host web page.

The computing system of claim 1 , wherein the string of additional words with the empty data fields interspersed therein comprises a template that determines positions for text content extracted from the body of text content, positions for text content extracted from the supplemental text content, and positions for the additional text to be inserted.
5 . The computing system of claim 1 , wherein the topic comprises a name of a geographical location, and the supplemental text content comprises travel information about an entity located within the geographical location.
6 . The computing system of claim 1 , wherein the topic comprises a name of a future event, and the supplemental text content comprises travel information about an entity at a geographical location at which the future event is going to take place.
7 . The computing system of claim 1 , wherein the empty data fields are filled-in with different auto-detected keywords from the supplemental text content, respectively.
8 . A method comprising:
receiving a body of text content from a tag that is embedded within and a host web page which displays the body of text content; identifying a topic associated with the body of text content; determining supplemental text content from a web page of a different website based on the identified topic; retrieving a string of additional words with empty data fields interspersed therein, and filling-in the empty data fields with auto-detected keywords from the supplemental text content to generate a filled-in string of words comprising a description based on a position where the filled-in string of words are to be embedded in the host web page; and transmitting the filled-in string of words to the tag embedded within the host web page thereby integrating the filled-in string of words into the body of the text content.

The method of claim 8 , wherein the filled-in string of words comprises a paragraph, and the transmitting comprises transmitting the paragraph to the tag embedded within the host web page at a position after a last paragraph of text included in the body of the text content embedded within the host web page.
10 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the filled-in string of words comprises a paragraph, and the transmitting comprises transmitting the paragraph to the tag embedded within the host web page between two paragraphs of text included in the body of the text content embedded within the host web page.

The method of claim 8 , wherein the string of additional words with the empty data fields interspersed therein comprises a template that determines positions for text content extracted from the body of text content, positions for text content extracted from the supplemental text content, and positions for the additional text to be inserted.
12 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the topic comprises a name of a geographical location, and the supplemental text content comprises travel information about an entity located within the geographical location.
13 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the topic comprises a name of a future event, and the supplemental text content comprises travel information about an entity at a geographical location at which the future event is going to take place.
14 . The method of claim 8 , wherein the empty data fields are filled-in with different auto-detected keywords from the supplemental text content, respectively.
15 . A non-transitory computer readable medium having stored therein instructions that when executed cause a computer to perform a method comprising:
receiving a body of text content from a tag that is embedded within and a host web page which displays the body of text content; identifying a topic associated with the body of text content; determining supplemental text content from a web page of a different website based on the identified topic; retrieving a string of additional words with empty data fields interspersed therein, and filling-in the empty data fields with auto-detected keywords from the supplemental text content to generate a filled-in string of words comprising a description based on a position where the filled-in string of words are to be embedded in the host web page; and transmitting the filled-in string of words to the tag embedded within the host web page thereby integrating the filled-in string of words into the body of the text content.

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the filled-in string of words comprises a paragraph, and the transmitting comprises transmitting the paragraph to the tag embedded within the host web page at a position after a last paragraph of text included in the body of the text content embedded within the host web page.

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the filled-in string of words comprises a paragraph, and the transmitting comprises transmitting the paragraph to the tag embedded within the host web page between two paragraphs of text included in the body of the text content embedded within the host web page.

The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the string of additional words with the empty data fields interspersed therein comprises a template that determines positions for text content extracted from the body of text content, positions for text content extracted from the supplemental text content, and positions for the additional text to be inserted.
19 . The non-transitory computer readable medium of claim 15 , wherein the topic comprises a name of a geographical location, and the supplemental text content comprises travel information about an entity located within the geographical location.
