Abstract

A pet grooming device forms a chamber with a base, two end panels connected to and extending upwardly from the base, and a rear wall. A front wall is hinged at a bottom edge and can be pivoted into a position where the front wall is opposite the rear wall forming an enclosure open only at the top. The front wall can be lowered to form a grooming and drying area bounded by the base, rear wall, and end panels and which is open along a front side. Two tethers each include a strap with an adjustable length. The straps are connected to a chamber end panel at one end, and have a hook at an opposite end. The tether hooks are connectable to opposite ends of a pet to limit movement of the pet within the chamber.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

         1 . A pet grooming device, comprising:
 a chamber, including:
 a base;
 two end panels connected to and extending upwardly from the base;
 a rear wall;
 a front wall, movable between
 a first position where the front wall is positioned opposite the rear wall to form an enclosure between the base, rear wall, end panels, and front wall, and
 a second position in which the front wall is positioned away from a position opposite the rear wall, thereby forming a grooming and drying area bounded by the base, rear wall, and end panels and which is open along a front side; and

   two tethers each including a strap having an adjustable length connected to a chamber end panel at one end, and having a hook at an opposite end, each tether connected to a different end panel, each hook connectable to a pet to retain the pet at opposite ends of the pet to limit movement of the pet within the chamber.

         2 . The device of claim 1 , wherein one of the tethers is configured to encircle the hips of a pet.

         3 . The device of claim 1 , at least one strap being formed from a resilient material.

         4 . The device of claim 1 , the chamber further including at least one vertically arranged enclosed receiving channel sized to receive a portion of the strap, the strap secured at a first end near a base of the channel, the channel having an opening from which a second end of the strap emerges, the opening closer to an upper end of the chamber than a lower end, the second end connected to a clip, the clip sized larger than the opening.

         5 . The device of claim 4 , each channel affixed to a different end panel, whereby a strap can be extended from one of the channels towards the hind end of a pet within the chamber, and the other strap can be extended towards the forward end of a pet.

         6 . The device of claim 1 , further including a heater and a fan, the fan positionable at an angle to direct hot air at a pet within the chamber.

         7 . The device of claim 4 , further including:
 controls for enabling operation of the heater, and a circuit configured to control operation of the heater to maintain a predetermined temperature within the grooming area.

         8 . The device of claim 4 , the heater and fan disposed within a drying hood pivotally connected to the chamber using one or more hinges.

         9 . The device of claim 1 , further including a height adjustable stand, the chamber mounted to the stand to be thereby be height adjustable.

         10 . The device of claim 5 , further including a switch to prevent operation of the heater when the chamber is closed.

         11 . The device of claim 6 , the drying hood further including a mesh positioned between the fan and an interior of the chamber.

         12 . The device of claim 1 , further including panels positionable between at least one of front and rear walls and opposed end panels.

         13 . The device of  claim 1 , further including a drain.

         14 . The device of claim 1 , further including a mat having a plurality of raised protrusions forming drainage channels, the mat positionable upon the base.

         15 . The device of claim 4 , further including a supply box reversibly positionable to cover the fan and heater.

         16 . The device of claim 1 , the front wall hingedly connected to the base to pivot from vertically upright to a downward angle.

         17 . The device of claim 1 , the front wall positionable to be substantially parallel with the base to form a work surface.

         18 . The device of claim 1 , wherein the front wall forms an opening extending along substantially an entire front side of the chamber when the front wall is in the second position.

         19 . The device of claim 1 , the front wall forming a water tight seal along a peripheral edge to thereby form a pet water wash basin in the first position.

         20 . A pet grooming device, comprising:
 a chamber, including:
 a base;
 a drain positioned to drain water from the base;
 two end panels connected to and extending upwardly from the base;
 a rear wall;
 a front wall, movable between
 a first position where the front wall is positioned opposite the rear wall, forming a water tight seal with the base and two sidewalls to form a pet water wash basin between the base, rear wall, end panels, and front wall, and
 a second position in which the front wall is positioned away from a position opposite the rear wall, thereby forming a grooming and drying area bounded by the base, rear wall, and end panels and which is open along a front side; and

   a drying hood pivotably connected to the chamber at various open positions to form various selectable angles between a closed position where the drying hood forms a top wall of the chamber, and an open position where the drying hood is pivoted away from the chamber, the various open positions provided by adjustable pivot hinges attached to the hood, the hood including
 at least one fan configured to blow air from outside the grooming and drying area into grooming and drying area, the at least one fan pivotable together with the hood to enable changing a direction of air flow onto a pet, when a pet is positioned within the grooming and drying area, from the at least one fan by pivoting the hood to an angle of the selectable angles,
 a heater, and
 two tethers each including a strap having an adjustable length connected to a chamber end panel at one end, and having a hook at an opposite end, each tether connected to a different end panel, each hook connectable to a pet to retain the pet at opposite ends of the pet to limit movement of the pet within the chamber.
