Abstract

Disclosed herein are various embodiments for systems and methods for self-payment and verification of the purchase of retail goods and services. According to an embodiment of the invention, a method for verifying the purchase using a mobile electronic device in wireless communication with a payment verification system and a code generating system is provided, the method comprising the steps of: receiving from a consumer information identifying an item for purchase; receiving from a consumer information identifying payment means for purchasing the item for purchase; processing the information identifying the item for purchase and information identifying payment means and generating a unique QR code indicating a purchase of the item; sending the unique QR code to a mobile device for display by a consumer to the vendor of the item for purchase.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified

 a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
 receiving, from a mobile device, identifying information from multiple scanned items;
 creating a data record in a database, the data record representing the multiple scanned items;
 generating a unique token, the unique token corresponding to the data record; and
 initiating transmission of the unique token to the mobile device; and

   an electronic device comprising:
 a second processor configured to obtain the unique token from the mobile device and to decode the unique token, the second processor further configured to initiate retrieval of the data record from the server based on the unique token; and
 a display device configured to display information related to the multiple scanned items.

         2 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the unique token comprises a single token.

         3 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the unique token is encoded within a unique QR code.

         4 . The system of claim 3 , wherein the unique QR code is transmitted to the mobile device for display thereon, and wherein the electronic device further comprises an optical input device configured to scan the unique QR code displayed on the mobile device.

         5 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the second processor is further configured to receive, from the server, a verification of the unique token, and wherein the display device of the electronic device is further configured to display whether the unique token is valid.

         6 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the unique token is encoded within a unique barcode.

         7 . The system of claim 1 , wherein obtaining the unique token from the mobile device comprises wirelessly receiving the unique token from the mobile device, and wherein the operations further comprise:
 creating a data entry in the data record to indicate a portion of the multiple scanned items that have already been collected.

         8 . The system of claim 1 , further comprising the mobile device, the mobile device comprising:
 an optical input device configured to scan multiple identifiers of the multiple scanned items to generate the identifying information; a third processor configured to initiate transmission of the identifying information to the server and to receive the unique token from the server; and a second display device configured to display a unique code, wherein the unique token is encoded within the unique code.

         9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the operations further comprise:
 obtaining from the data record the identity of the multiple scanned items, wherein the information related to the multiple scanned items comprises a list of the multiple scanned items.

         10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein the display device of the electronic device is further configured to display a prompt requesting confirmation that the multiple scanned items have been examined.

         11 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the unique token is encoded within a unique QR code, wherein the unique QR code is transmitted to the mobile device for display thereon, and wherein the operations further comprise:
 receiving, from the electronic device, data indicating the unique QR code; retrieving embedded information from the unique QR code, the embedded information comprising an identifier associated with the multiple scanned items; and comparing the embedded information from the unique QR code to entries in the database, wherein the operations further comprise initiating transmission, to the electronic device, of information indicating whether the embedded information in the unique QR code matches an entry in the database.

         12 . The system of claim 1 , wherein the unique token comprises a link, and wherein the operations further comprise:
 accessing information associated with the link to determine whether the information contains a valid data record.

         13 . A system comprising:
 a server comprising:
 communication circuitry configured to receive, from a mobile device, identifying information from multiple scanned items;
 a processor; and
 a memory coupled to the processor, the memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations comprising:
 creating a data record in a database, the data record representing the multiple scanned items; and
 generating a unique token, the unique token corresponding to the data record, wherein the communication circuitry is further configured to transmit the unique token to the mobile device; and

   an electronic device comprising:
 a second processor configured to obtain the unique token from the mobile device and to decode the unique token;
 second communication circuitry configured to retrieve the data record from the server based on the unique token; and
 a display device configured to display information related to the multiple scanned items.

         14 . The system of claim 13 , wherein the information related to the multiple scanned items comprises a list of the multiple scanned items.
