Abstract

Disclosed herein are systems and methods for contributing to the local treatment of pain. More specifically, the disclosed systems and methods contribute to the local treatment of pain by inhibiting the NFκB family of transcription factors.

         2 . A method of treating pain or inflammation, the method comprising:
 locally injecting a solid pharmaceutical depot through a needle to an epidural space or an intrathecal space,   wherein the solid pharmaceutical depot comprises:
 a NFκB inhibitor; and 
 a biopolymer. 
   
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the biopolymer comprises a sustained release biopolymer. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the biopolymer comprises polylactide. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the biopolymer comprises polylactide, wherein administering the depot comprises injecting the depot through a needle, and wherein the depot comprises a matrix or a pill. 
     
     
         6 . A method of treating pain or inflammation, the method comprising:
 locally administering a solid pharmaceutical depot to an epidural space or an intrathecal space,   wherein the solid pharmaceutical depot comprises:
 a NFκB inhibitor; and

         7 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the biopolymer comprises a sustained release biopolymer.

         11 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the biopolymer comprises polylactide, and wherein administering the depot comprises injecting the solid pharmaceutical depot through a needle. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 6 , wherein the biopolymer comprises polylactide, wherein administering the solid pharmaceutical depot comprises injecting the solid pharmaceutical depot through a needle, and wherein the solid pharmaceutical depot comprises a matrix or a pill. 
     
     
         13 . A method of treating pain or inflammation, the method comprising:
