a two-way port disposed on the body for detachably connecting to an external source of energy.
2 . The case of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of components further includes a memory unit and a slot disposed on the body, the slot is configured to detachably receive and communicably couple a removable memory device to the bus.
3 . The case of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of components further includes an output port disposed on the body for detachably connecting to an external source of signals including at least audio and video signals.
4 . The case of claim 1 , further comprising a base, wherein the base is attachable to the body for enclosing the bus and the plurality of components between the body and the base.
5 . The case of claim 1 , wherein the bus is a circuit board.
6 . The case of claim 1 , wherein the internal battery is rechargeable and is charged when the two-way port is connected to the external source of energy.
7 . The case of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to, when the connector is coupled to the mobile device, charge the mobile device battery from the internal battery in accordance with the determined state of charge of the mobile device battery.
8 . The case of claim 1 , wherein the processor is further configured to, when the connector is coupled to a mobile device having a display, provide a user interface on the display for presenting contents of the memory unit and the removable memory device.
9 . The case of claim 1 , further comprising a rail to detachably secure to a universal case.
10 . The case of claim 9 , wherein the rail includes a detent to engage with the universal case.
11 . A case for encasing a mobile device having a mobile device battery and a display, the case comprising:
a body; a bus disposed on the body; and a plurality of components, each communicably coupled to the bus, the plurality of components including:
a connector disposed on the body for connecting to the mobile device,
a two-way port disposed on the body for detachably connecting to an external source of energy.
an internal battery disposed on the body for collecting and distributing energy, and
a processor disposed on the body to regulate transmissions of energy and signals amongst the plurality of components and configured to determine a state of charge of the mobile device battery.
12 . The case of claim 10 , wherein the processor is further configured to charge the mobile device battery from the internal battery in accordance with the determined state of charge.
13 . The case of claim 10 , wherein the plurality of components further includes a memory unit and a slot disposed on the body, the slot is configured to detachably receive and communicably couple a removable memory device to the bus.
14 . The case of claim 10 , wherein the mobile device includes a display and the processor is further configured to provide a user interface on the display for presenting contents of the memory unit and the removable memory device.
15 . A method for encasing a mobile device having a mobile device battery and a display, the method comprising acts of:
providing a case having a body, a bus disposed on the body and a plurality of components disposed on the body and communicably coupled to the bus, the plurality of components including:
a processor configured to regulate transmissions of energy and signals amongst the plurality of components,
an internal battery for collecting and distributing energy,
a connector configured to connect the bus to the mobile device, and
a two-way port for detachably connecting to an external source of energy;
charging the internal battery when the two-way port is connected to the external source of energy; and determining, using the processor, a state of charge of the mobile device battery.
16 . The method of claim 15 , wherein the bus is a circuit board and the plurality of components further includes
a memory unit, a slot configured to detachably receive and communicably couple a removable memory device to the bus, and an output port for detachably connecting to an external source of signals including at least audio and video signals.
17 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising an act of providing a base for attaching to the body for enclosing the bus and the plurality of components between the body and the base.
18 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising an act of charging, when the connector is coupled to the mobile device, the mobile device battery from the internal battery in accordance with the determined state of charge of the mobile device battery.
19 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising an act of presenting, when the connector is coupled to the mobile device, on the display via a user interface contents of the memory unit and the removable memory device.
20 . The method of claim 15 , further comprising an act of providing a rail to detachably secure the case to a universal case, the rail having a detent for engaging the universal case.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
