Abstract
Disclosed herein is a therapeutic comprising hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α). Also disclosed herein is a method for treating hypoxia or ischemia in a subject in need thereof. The method may comprise administering the vaccine to the subject in need thereof.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
. A therapeutic comprising hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha (HIF-1α).
. The therapeutic of claim 1 , wherein HIF-1α is encoded by a nucleotide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:1, a nucleotide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:3, a nucleotide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:5, a nucleotide sequence that is 95% identical or greater to SEQ ID NO:1, a nucleotide sequence that is 95% identical or greater to SEQ ID NO:3, or a nucleotide sequence that is 95% identical or greater to SEQ ID NO:5.
. The therapeutic of claim 2 , wherein HIF-1α is encoded by the nucleotide sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:5.
. The therapeutic of claim 2 , further comprising an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:2, an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:4, an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:6, an amino acid sequence that is 95% identical or greater to SEQ ID NO:2, an amino acid sequence that is 95% identical or greater to SEQ ID NO:4, or an amino acid sequence that is 95% identical or greater to SEQ ID NO:6.
. The therapeutic of claim 3 , further comprising an amino acid sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:6.
. The therapeutic of claim 1 , wherein HIF-1α is mutated such that HIF-1α cannot be hydroxylated in a cell.
. The therapeutic of claim 6 , wherein a proline residue of HIF-1α cannot be hydroxylated in the cell.
. The therapeutic of claim 1 , further comprising a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
. A method of treating hypoxia or ischemia in a subject in need thereof, the method comprising administering the vaccine of claim 1 to the subject.
. The method of claim 9 , wherein administering the vaccine includes electroporation.
. The method of claim 9 , wherein administering the vaccine includes at least one of intramuscular administration and intradermal administration.
. The method of claim 9 , wherein the hypoxia or ischemia is associated with critical limb ischemia, peripheral artery disease, wound healing, a vascular disease, a circulatory disease, coronary artery disease, cardiovascular disease, or diabetes.
. The method of claim 12 , wherein the hypoxia or ischemia is associated with critical limb ischemia.
. The method of claim 9 , wherein at least one of capillary density, collateral vessel formation or vessel size is increased in the subject administered the vaccine as compared to a subject not administered the vaccine.
. The method of claim 9 , wherein tissue perfusion is increased in the subject administered the vaccine as compared to a subject not administered the vaccine.
. The method of claim 9 , wherein tissue necrosis is decreased in the subject administered the vaccine as compared to a subject not administered the vaccine.
. A nucleic acid molecule comprising a nucleotide sequence selected from the group consisting of: SEQ ID NO:5 and a nucleotide sequence that is 95% identical or greater to SEQ ID NO:5.
. The nucleic acid molecule of claim 17 , wherein the nucleotide sequence is a plasmid.
. An amino acid molecule comprising an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of: SEQ ID NO:6 and an amino acid sequence that is 95% identical or greater to SEQ ID NO:6.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
