         24 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the search request comprises at least a portion of a first textual identification string of the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database.

         25 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the identifying comprises retrieving the content item based on at least the portion of the first textual identification string from the knowledge database.

         26 . The method of claim 25 , wherein the identifying comprises retrieving a second textual identification string of the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database based on the retrieved content item.

         27 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the search request comprises metadata from the content item.

         28 . The method of claim 27 , wherein the identifying comprises retrieving the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database based on the content item identified from the metadata.

         29 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the knowledge database comprises nodes on a variety of topics from a variety of sources, wherein each node comprises structured data on a topic, the structured data comprises at least one textual identification string associated with the topic.

         30 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the media storage comprises a plurality of content items, where each content item comprises metadata at least partially populated by a creator or viewer of the content item.

         31 . The method of claim 23 , wherein the associations between the content items and the textual identification strings are generated based upon the metadata and the textual identification strings meeting at least one matching criteria.

         32 . A system, comprising:
 a memory; and a processing device communicably coupled to the memory, wherein the processing device is to:
 receive a search request to search content items of a media sharing platform, the search request provided via a script employing an application programming interface (API) for searching the content items of media storage of the media sharing platform;
 determine that the search request matches at least one textual identification string in a knowledge database comprising structured data that is derived from multiple sources and is separate from the media storage, wherein the script employing the API is to allow for searching of the media storage of the media sharing platform with textual identification strings identifying topics corresponding to the structured data from the knowledge database;
 identify an association between the content item from the media storage and the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database;
 associate the content item with at least one tag corresponding to the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database;
 store the content item and the at least one tag together in a persistent data store;
 provide, in response to identifying the association, the content item from the media storage, the at least one tag associated with the content item from the persistent data store, and the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database; and
 cause the content item, the at least one tag, and the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database to each be presented in response to the search request.

         33 . The system according to claim 32 , wherein the search request comprises at least a portion of a first textual identification string of the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database.

         34 . The system according to claim 33 , wherein the processing device is further to retrieve the content item based on at least the portion of the first textual identification string from the knowledge database.

         35 . The system according to claim 34 , wherein the processing device is further to retrieve a second textual identification string of the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database based on the retrieved content item.

         36 . The system according to claim 32 , wherein the search request comprises metadata from the content item.

         37 . The system according to claim 36 , wherein the association retrieval unit retrieves the at least one textual identification string based on the content item identified from the metadata.

         38 . The system according to claim 32 , wherein the processing device is further to provide the content item and the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database to a media sharing web site.

         39 . The system according to claim 32 , wherein the content item is a video, a group of videos, or a channel associated with a user of the media sharing web site.

         40 . A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that, in response to execution, cause a system including a processing device to perform operations comprising:
 receiving a search request to search content items of a media sharing platform, the search request provided via a script employing an application programming interface (API) for searching the content items of media storage of the media sharing platform; determining that the search request matches at least one textual identification string in a knowledge database comprising structured data that is derived from multiple sources and is separate from the media storage, wherein the script employing the API is to allow for searching of the media storage of the media sharing platform with textual identification strings identifying topics corresponding to the structured data from the knowledge database identifying, by the processing device, an association between the content item from the media storage and the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database; associating the content item with at least one tag corresponding to the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database; storing the content item and the at least one tag together in a persistent data store; providing, in response to identifying the association, the content item from the media storage, the at least one tag associated with the content item from the persistent data store, and the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database; and causing the content item, the at least one tag, and the at least one textual identification string from the knowledge database to each be presented in response to the search request.
