Abstract

Pincers for removing residual dental roots by the application of a contrary force on the mandible and maxilla on a pre-fixed screw. It is constructed in such a manner as to enable the strength of the operator to be multiplied and the final movement of the pincers to be reduced. The operator will need to apply minimal force and thus the procedure becomes simple and safe, thereby preserving the underlying bone structure and facilitating implant osseointegration. Likewise the device can be easily sterilized and assembled/dismantled easily because of the small number of moving parts. Further, there is no need for the mouth to be opened so widely, which results in less movement and less trauma caused by excessive opening of the patient's mouth, and it adapts to the irregular profile of support on the dental arch.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Pincers for the extraction of teeth and residual dental roots, comprising:
a bi-socketed jointed system formed by a handle, a central body, a pincer and feet, wherein the feet engage through shafts on which the feet rotate, and are protected by a cover; the pincer provides a base part and has an end which engages an extractor screw previously fixed to one of a tooth and/or remaining tooth root, where a main component of a force resulting therein acts, and the feet are configured to support adjacent teeth or gums in order to distribute forces on the adjacent teeth or gums in order to provide support, the feet having independent adjustments and latchs to ensure support in accordance with unevenness of a dental arch or a need to support the gums, the feet further having a soft material coating, and wherein a handle of said pincers formed in an anatomical fashion.

2 . Pincers for the extraction of teeth and residual dental roots, according to claim 1 , wherein operation of the pincers begins by fitting the pincer in the extractor screw and adjusting the height of the feet in the surrounding support area by pressing the feet downwards, the position being maintained by action of a front spring and a latch, which in turn regulates a position of the pincers for an extraction, wherein the position of the pincers is varied if there is or not a presence of other teeth around a tooth to be extracted, wherein each foot-latch assembly actuates independently from each other, each foot-latch assembly is able to keep different heights, causing pincer action to occur close to a screw shaft, facilitating extraction, and reducing pain and the risk of injury to the mandible or maxilla,
and wherein actuation of the pincers does not cause an unlatching by traction of a hand in a direction opposite to extraction, allowing repositioning of the feet in an original position, and whose activation is performed with a single hand of a user, resting the cover in a palm of the hand and applying force on the handle with fingers, a resulting force being amplified in the proximal socket joint of the central body and transmitted to a distal socket joint by movement of the handle relative to the body, wherein the bending of the distal socket joint amplifies the force received actuating in a raising movement of the pincer on the feet, which results in extraction of the remaining tooth/root where the extractor screw is fixed.

3 . Pincers for the extraction of teeth and residual dental roots, according to claim 1 , further comprising a first oblong hole and a second oblong hole disposed on the pincer.

4 . Pincers for the extraction of teeth and residual dental roots, according to claim 1 , wherein the first oblong hole has a radius greater than a radius of the second oblong hole.

5 . Pincers for the extraction of teeth and residual dental roots, according to claim 1 , further comprising a pincer rip disposed in the base part of the pincer.

6 . Pincers for the extraction of teeth and residual dental roots, according to claim 1 , further comprising a latch for each foot, the latch having a plurality of teeth disposed thereon to provide lockable adjustment of each foot.
