Insulated glazing systems and methods of assembling such insulated glazing systems
Abstract
The present disclosure concerns an insulated glazing system (1) and an associated assembly method. The insulated glazing system (1) comprises a first glass pane (2), a second glass pane (3), a spacer element (4) comprising a first surface (5) designed for coupling with said first glass pane (2) and a second surface (6) designed for coupling with said second glass pane (3), said spacer element (4) being made of a low heat conductivity material, support means (7) within the insulated glazing system, for a blind (8), a screen or the like. The insulated glazing system (1) is characterized in that it comprises a first profile (10) and engagement means (12), said first profile (10) comprising a first surface (13) designed for coupling with said support means (7) and a second surface (14) designed for coupling with a bottom surface (15) of said spacer element (4), said first profile (10) and said spacer element (4) having each at least one through hole (21, 23), said engagement means (12) engaging said through holes (21, 22, 23), to provide a tight mechanical coupling between said spacer element (4) and said first profile (10).
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An insulated glazing system comprising:
a first glass pane, a second glass pane, a spacer element comprising a first surface designed for coupling with said first glass pane and a second surface designed for coupling with said second glass pane, said spacer element being made of a low heat-conductive material, support box within the insulated glazing system, for a blind, a screen or the like, a first profile and engagement means, said first profile comprising a first surface designed for coupling with said support box and a second surface designed for coupling with a bottom surface of said spacer element, each of said first profile and said spacer element has at least one through hole, said engagement means engaging said through holes to thereby provide a tight mechanical coupling between said spacer element and said first profile, characterized in that it comprises a second profile comprising a first surface designed for coupling with a top surface of said spacer element and at least one through hole, said engagement means engaging said through holes of said first profile, said second profile and said spacer element to thereby provide a mechanical coupling between said spacer element, said first profile and said second profile.
2 . An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said engagement means comprise sealing means comprising a first sealing ring and a second sealing ring which are placed on a second surface and on said first surface of said second profile respectively, proximate to said at least one through hole, to provide a seal between said spacer element and said second profile.
3 . An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said first sealing ring and said second sealing ring comprise butyl.
4 . An insulating glazing system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said engagement means comprise clamping means comprising a head end and a tail end which are interconnected by a shaft, wherein said head end comprises a countersunk head and said bottom end comprises ratchets that are configured to move from a deployed position to a retracted position.
5 . An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said second profile comprises profile portions located proximate to the at least one through hole of the spacer element or extends along the entire length of the top surface of said spacer element.
6 . An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein:
said first surface of the second profile is a substantially flat surface, said second surface of the second profile comprises a central area extending substantially parallel to said first surface of the second profile whereas the end or peripheral areas are flared.
7 . An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said first profile extends along the entire length of the spacer element or at least along a portion of the entire length of said spacer element.
8 . An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said first profile comprises a flat central portion, with two wings extending therefrom, each comprising a rabbeted end portion.
9 . An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the transverse linear dimension of said first profile and said second profile is smaller than the distance between said first and second glass panes.
10 . A method of assembling an insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 1 , comprising the steps of:
providing a first profile comprising at least one through hole; providing a spacer element comprising at least one through hole; providing support box for supporting a blind, a screen or the like; providing engagement means; adhesively bonding a first glass pane to a first surface of said spacer element; characterized in that it comprises the further steps of: providing a second profile comprising a first surface designed for coupling with a top surface of said spacer element and at least one through hole, associating said support means with said first profile; associating said first profile with the bottom surface of said spacer element; engaging said through holes of said first profile, said second profile and said spacer element by said engagement means to thereby provide a mechanical coupling between said spacer element, said first profile and said second profile; adhesively bonding a second glass pane to a second surface of said spacer element.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
