Abstract

A mobile web page shows a hashtag and messages with that tag. The page shows one or more deep links or linkets, related to the topic of the messages. If a user clicks a deep link or linket, an app is launched on the mobile device, to connect to an app on a different device. The user interacts with a second user. The latter can be an instructor or teacher or observer of the topic. The first user can be a student. Extra interactive possibilities for mobile visitors to the website. The app can be more engaging than using a browser. The website charges for the linket ad. Similar steps are done for a page with an author's username, where the page shows messages by the author and the messages have hashtags. This page has a linket ad. If the ad is by the author, this lets the author promote herself or an item sold by her or an event (like a concert) where she will be playing. More incentive for her to write more hashtag messages, to garner a greater audience. Increases the chances that more people will click the linket and interact with her via the linket app.

We claim:

1 . A method of a server making a page with a hashtag and messages related to the hashtag; the server finds a topic of the page; the server runs an auction; bidders include owners of linkets related to the topic or other topics; a winning bidder has a linket; the server puts the linket in the page; the server makes the linket selectable; the server sends the page to a device on a network; the server gets a selection of the linket from the device; the server sends the linket to a registry; the server gets a deep link from the registry; the deep link has an application id and a network address; the server sends the deep link to the device.

2 . The method of claim 1 where the auction is automated; where the server enables owners of linkets to pre-register linkets, topics and maximum bids.

3 . The method of claim 1 , where the device installs an app from an app store; the app corresponds to the application id defined in the deep link; the app interacts with a second device at the network address defined in the deep link.

4 . The method of claim 1 , where the linket contains a string equal to the hashtag, or a subset of the hashtag.

5 . A method of a server making a page with messages by an author; the server puts a linket in the page; the server makes the linket selectable; the linket is owned by the author; the server sends the page to a device on a network; the server gets a selection of the linket from the device; the server sends the linket to a registry; the server gets a deep link from the registry; the deep link has an application id and a network address; the server sends the deep link to the device.

6 . The method of claim 5 , where the device installs an app from an app store if the app is not present on the device; the app corresponds to the application id defined in the deep link; the app interacts with a second device at the network address defined in the deep link; the second device is operated by the author or a representative of the author.
