Abstract

An assembly is provided for a turbine engine. This turbine engine assembly includes a turbine engine component and a lubrication system. The lubrication system directs lubricant through the turbine engine component. The lubrication system includes a wash flow filter.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
What is claimed is:

1 . An assembly for a turbine engine, comprising:
a turbine engine component; a lubrication system for directing lubricant through the turbine engine component, the lubrication system including a wash flow filter that comprises a filter element, a first flow path and a second flow path, wherein the first flow path extends along the filter element, the second flow path extends through the filter element, and the turbine engine component is fluidly coupled with and downstream of the first flow path; and a second turbine engine component fluidly coupled with and downstream of the second flow path, wherein the turbine engine component and the second turbine engine component are configured in parallel.

2 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first flow path does not extend through the filter element.

3 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the filter element is outside of the first flow path.

4 . The assembly of claim 1 , further comprising a second filter fluidly coupled with and upstream of the first flow path.

5 . The assembly of claim 4 , further comprising a lubricant source, wherein the second filter is configured in serial between the wash flow filter and the lubricant source.

6 . The assembly of claim 4 , wherein the second filter is operable to filter different particulates than the wash flow filter.

7 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the first flow path is divergent with the second flow path, and the filter element is inline with the second flow path.

8 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the lubrication system includes a lubricant source fluidly coupled with and upstream of the wash flow filter.

9 . The assembly of claim 8 , wherein the lubricant source comprises a lubricant reservoir.

10 . The assembly of claim 8 , wherein the lubricant source comprises a lubricant gutter.

11 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the lubrication system includes a lubricant pump fluidly coupled with and upstream of the wash flow filter.

12 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the turbine engine component comprises a bearing.

13 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the turbine engine component comprises a heat exchanger.

14 . The assembly of claim 1 , wherein the lubrication system includes a lubricant reservoir or a lubricant gutter fluidly coupled with and downstream of the wash flow filter.

15 . An assembly for a turbine engine, comprising:
a lubricant source; a first turbine engine component a second turbine engine component; and a filter including a filter element, a first flow path and a second flow path; the first flow path extending along, without extending through, the filter element; the second flow path extending through the filter element; the first flow path configured in a first lubricant circuit that include the first turbine engine component; and the second flow path configured in a second lubricant circuit that include the second turbine engine component, wherein the second lubricant circuit is configured in parallel with the first lubricant circuit.

16 . The assembly of claim 15 , further comprising a second filter fluidly coupled between the filter and the lubricant source.

17 . An assembly for a turbine engine, comprising:
a lubricant source; a first turbine engine component; a second turbine engine component; and a filter including a filter element, a first flow path and a second flow path; the first flow path extending along the filter element and fluidly coupled with the first turbine engine component; and the second flow path extending through the filter element and fluidly coupled with the second turbine engine component.

18 . The assembly of claim 17 , wherein the filter element is outside of the first flow path.

19 . The assembly of claim 17 , wherein the first turbine engine component and the second turbine engine component are configured in parallel between the filter and the lubricant source.

20 . The assembly of claim 17 , further comprising a second filter fluidly coupled in serial between the filter and the fluid source.
