Abstract

A patient matched instrument for a patient's femur is disclosed. The instrument includes a body having a cutting slot and a patient matched surface that mates with the patient's trochlear groove, a first leg portion extending from the body, a second leg portion extending from the body; and each leg portion has a contacting pad for tangential contact with the patient's femoral medial and lateral condyles.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
- 21 . (canceled)

. A patient matched instrument for a patient's femur having a trochlear groove, a medial condyle, and a lateral condyle, the instrument comprising:
a body having a cutting slot and a patient matched surface that mates with and contacts the patient's trochlear groove; a first leg portion extending from the body and having a first contacting pad for tangential contact with the patient's femoral medial condyle; and a second leg portion extending from the body and having a second contacting pad for tangential contact with the patient's femoral lateral condyle.

. The instrument of claim 22 , the body further comprising a visual indicator.

. The instrument of claim 22 , the body further comprising a window.

. The instrument of claim 22 , the body further comprising apertures.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein each leg portion further comprises at least one pin boss.

. The instrument of claim 22 , further comprising a guide.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein the patient matched surface of the body has six boundary conditions.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein the first leg portion has a different length from the second leg portion.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein each of the first and second contacting pads is substantially perpendicular to a mechanical axis of the patient's femur.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein each of the first and second contacting pads is parallel to the cutting slot.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein the first contacting pad contacts the femoral medial condyle at an angle relative to the cutting slot and/or the mechanical axis.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein the second contacting pad contacts the femoral lateral condyle at an angle relative to the cutting slot and/or the mechanical axis.

. The instrument of claim 22 , the body further comprising a passage.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein the body includes at least one cross-member.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein the body comprises an anterior ridge extension.

. The instrument of claim 22 , further comprising at least one surface contact confirmation slot.

. The instrument of claim 22 , further comprising a distal trochlea grip.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein each leg portion includes at least one paddle.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein the body further comprises a frangible component.

. The instrument of claim 40 , wherein the frangible component is a leg portion.

. The instrument of claim 22 , wherein the body further comprises at least one fixation hole.

. The instrument of claim 42 , wherein the at least one fixation hole is aligned to a normal of a surface that the at least one fixation hole intersects.

. A patient matched instrument for a patient's femur having a trochlear groove, a medial condyle, and a lateral condyle, the instrument comprising:
a body having a cutting slot and a patient matched surface that mates with the patient's trochlear groove; a first leg portion extending from the body and having a first contacting pad for tangential contact with a distal portion of the patient's femoral medial condyle; and a second leg portion extending from the body and having a second contacting pad for tangential contact with a distal portion of the patient's femoral lateral condyle.

. The instrument of claim 44 , wherein the patient matched surface mates with the patient's trochlear groove.
