Abstract
A cosmetic applicator and a method for using the same are disclosed. The cosmetic applicator includes a hollow application element, a sealing element, and a holding element. The hollow application element has an opening to accept a fluid media, wherein hollow application element becomes resilient in the presence of the fluid media. The sealing element is configured to seal the opening to maintain the fluid media in the hollow application element. The holding element is mounted on the hollow application element at a position corresponding to the sealing element. The cosmetic applicator can reduce a usage amount of a make-up material and be quickly and easily cleaned after being used.

1 . A cosmetic applicator, comprising:
a hollow application element having an opening to accept a fluid media, wherein the hollow application element becomes resilient in the presence of the fluid media; a sealing element configured to seal the opening to maintain the fluid media in the hollow application element; and a holding element mounted on the hollow application element at a position corresponding to the sealing element.
2 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 1 , wherein the hollow application element includes a body portion and an installation portion which extends from the body portion, the opening is formed at the end of the installation portion, and the holding element is mounted on the installation portion.
3 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 2 , wherein the body portion has an outer diameter greater than that of the installation portion.
4 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 3 , further comprising a connecting element which is surroundingly coupled to an outer peripheral surface of the installation portion, and the holding element being fittingly connected to the installation portion by the connecting element.
5 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 4 , wherein the connecting element has an inner peripheral surface with at least one first engagement structure, and on the outer peripheral surface of the installation portion at least one second engagement structure is arranged to couple with the at least one first engagement structure.
6 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 5 , wherein the installation portion has a limiting flange arranged on an outer peripheral edge thereof, and the limiting flange fittingly abuts against the end surface of the connecting element.
7 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 6 , wherein the sealing element includes a stop portion and an engagement portion which extends from the stop portion, the stop portion has an outer diameter greater than that of the engagement portion, the stop portion fittingly abuts against the installation portion and the engagement portion sealingly engages with the opening.
8 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 1 , wherein the hollow application element is made of a silicone foam material.
9 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 1 , wherein the holding element has an outer wall surface formed with a plurality of holding ribs and a plurality of grooves which are alternately arranged.
10 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 1 , wherein the fluid media is air or water.
11 . The cosmetic applicator of claim 10 , wherein the fluid media is water with a temperature ranging from 35° C. to 40° C.
12 . A method for using a cosmetic applicator, comprising the steps of:
providing the cosmetic applicator which includes a hollow application element, a sealing element, and a holding element; accepting a fluid media form an opening of the hollow application element, wherein the hollow application element becomes resilient in the presence of the fluid media; sealing the opening by the sealing element to maintain the fluid media in the hollow application element; mounting the holding element on the hollow application element at a position corresponding to the sealing element; and operating the holding element to bring the hollow application element into contact with a make-up material.
13 . The method of claim 12 , wherein the fluid media is air or water.
