Abstract
Method of detecting Symmetrical dimethyl arginine (SDMA) in biological samples. SDMA analogs for generating anti-SDMA antibodies having little or no cross-reactivity with asymmetrical dimethyl arginine, arginine, and monomethylarginine. The analogs have a protected or free thiol (—SH) group or hydroxyl (—OH) group that allow them to be linked to a suitable conjugation target which can be, for example, a protein containing molecule of a label. The anti-SDMA antibodies can be used in diagnostic immunoassay for the diagnosis of SDMA associated disorders and/or diseases.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modifiedWhat is claimed is:
1 . A device for determining the presence of free symmetrical dimethylarginine (SDMA) in a sample, the device comprising a solid phase having immobilized thereon free SDMA from the sample.
2 . The device of claim 1 , further having immobilized thereon an SDMA analog conjugated to a label.
3 . A test device having immobilized thereon free SDMA from a patient sample.
4 . The test device of claim 3 , further having immobilized thereon an SDMA analog conjugated to a label.
5 . A method for detecting the presence or amount of free symmetrical dimethylarginine (SDMA) in a sample, the method comprising:
(a) contacting a device comprising a solid phase with a patient sample and with an SDMA analog conjugated to a label; (b) immobilizing the free SDMA from the sample to the solid phase; (c) immobilizing the SDMA analog to the solid phase; and (d) detecting the presence or amount of the SDMA analog immobilized to the solid phase, thereby determining the presence or amount of free SDMA in the sample.
6 . A method for determining the presence of free symmetrical dimethylarginine (SDMA) in a patient sample, the method comprising specifically binding the free SDMA from the sample onto a solid phase, wherein the presence of the SDMA on the solid phase indicates the presence of free SDMA in the sample.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
